Here’s what you need to know:

1. Superannuation Must Be Paid on the Same Day as Wages

One of the biggest changes is that superannuation contributions will need to be paid on the same day employees are paid their wages — not quarterly as in the past.

This means:

Super contributions must be calculated and processed at the same time as payroll

Payments must be transmitted to super funds on or before each pay day

This change applies to all eligible employees, including casuals and part-timers

This new requirement helps ensure employees have access to their full entitlements faster and reduces the risk of late payment penalties

2. Payslips and Recordkeeping Standards Are Being Strengthened
