Meet Anthony Duffy, our new Designer and Content Creator. 🎨

Emma met Anthony in 2017 at a fashion design studio in Brisbane, where he helped the graduate designers she was mentoring build their brands. They stayed in touch for nine years. When we needed a designer, and Anthony was on the job hunt, that was the whole recruitment process.

Anthony has already built some brand style guides, produced numerous client design projects, and is writing some of our social and blog content; right now, he's designing artwork for a local freight company's trucks and vans, which we’ll share soon.

Welcome to the team, Anthony!

A spreadsheet that was fine when there were three staff, gets slower with five. The group chat where everyone was across everything turns into where things get missed. Someone takes a week off, and nobody's quite sure how their job actually gets done.

None of that feels like a systems problem at the time. It feels like a bad day. Then it spirals into a year of bad days... until you fix it.

We tripled our team in under two months and hit all sorts of snags. But we slowed down, rethought our lines of communication and built systems to support our work. Clermont just got its first homegrown Software Developer! 🎃

Robert grew up here, and he's just joined us as our first Junior Developer. No moving truck, and no city rent. The software career came to him.

He'd been mentored by Steve on the basics of coding before he signed on, turning up keener every session. On the job, Robert tests and debugs every product before it ships. Now nothing goes live until Robert's had a go at breaking it: So far, AERIS, Plot Planner and Feed Finda, plus client projects, all tested by a bloke who grew up ten minutes from where the code gets written.

In Robert’s words: "I try to break everything before it ships. Better me than a client."

And his first day ended the only way a Clermont tech job could: laptop bag in one hand, one of Emma's homegrown pumpkins in the other.

Welcome to the team, Robert! Our team is growing rapidly, so there are more new faces to introduce very soon.

360 photo finish! 🌐 🏇

Facebook stopped supporting 360 photos, so we built our own viewer and tested it out at last weekend's Clermont Race Club Winter Races.

Steven spent Saturday with the Insta360 camera, capturing the event the full way round.
