I’m off to enjoy some much-needed time away in my favourite city, Brisbane! ❤️

🎉 Howe & Russell is 4 today! 🎉

Today marks 4 years in business, and what an incredible four years it has been.

There have been plenty of challenges, opportunities, milestones and achievements along the way, and I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has been part of the journey.

To my amazing clients 🌟 thank you for continuing to trust me and allowing me to support your businesses.

To my family and friends 🥰 thank you for your constant encouragement, belief and support. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

A very special thank you also goes to George - while George is working in a full-time role, she has been such a huge part of Howe & Russell over the years (and lets me keep her name). I’m incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed, and I’m thankful she’s still only ever a phone call away when I need her 😘

As for me, I have recently taken on a new opportunity as a HR & Compliance Manager, working Wednesday to Friday each week. The good news is that Howe & Russell isn’t going anywhere! I’ll continue to dedicate Mondays and Tuesdays (and weekends 😉) to supporting my wonderful clients and I’ll also remain available outside the traditional 9 to 5 where needed.

📸 A Day in the Life of a Work Experience Student 👨🏼‍💼

Today I welcomed Jack for a one-day work experience placement and gave him a very gentle introduction to the exciting world of HR.  Together we:

✔️ Drafted policies
✔️ Created job advertisements
✔️ Reviewed employment documentation
✔️ Learned a little about workplace compliance

But the real learning opportunities included:

⛽ Filling my car with diesel
🥧 Conducting extensive research into the best sausage roll in town
🏀 Monitoring the NBA Finals (purely for educational purposes, of course)
🤔 Listening to his favourite aunty share her endless wisdom on life, business and everything in between

For someone who only dipped his toe very shallowly into the HR world today, Jack packed a lot into one day. Whether he leaves inspired to pursue a career in Human Resources remains to be seen, but I am confident he’s now significantly more qualified to identify a quality sausage roll (FYI the school canteen still winning this contest) and discuss NBA Finals statistics 😜

Thanks for spending the day with me, Jack. I loved having you along and hope you enjoyed seeing what goes on behind the scenes, even if the NBA and lunch scouting may have been the highlights! Enjoy your preferred work experience placement of a Physio from tomorrow onwards 🫶🏼
