FDC may not be running but our sunflowers are still growing!

These were planted by the Before School Care children from seeds and have grown into the most amazing tall and beautiful sunflowers! 🌻

2022 Program Update:

We are delighted to share with our FDC families the news that we have welcomed our newest addition, Chester to our family, born on 12th January 2022 🎉

Our families who attended the program in 2021 will be aware however I wanted to update the page to notify all potential new families exploring care options in 2022 that the maternity leave period has been extended from 4 months to 12 months, taking us to 2023.

This decision is due to a few factors, some around our expanding family and others due to a growth in care options around the local area which provides us the opportunity to enjoy a longer leave period.

We extend our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause for families exploring care in 2022 and thank you for your understanding 🥰

Sending our support to all families juggling trying to work from home whilst keeping their children, young or school age, entertained, engaged and happy.
Or whether you're a stay at home parent and the days when your children are happily playing and cared for at childcare are what help keep you refreshed and the best parent you can be.

So to help you through the lockdown, here is an idea for one activity today using items found around the house.
Find some bits and bobs, socks and some glue and get creative!
Take a break, go outside before the rain comes and enjoy getting creative with your family in the warm sunshine!

With a change of restrictions involving childcare in Vic, I ask all families to please wait to be notified on how these changes will impact their eligibility to access childcare during this lockdown period.

Once I have recieved confirmation from the GP Shire, all families will receive an update via email.

It will understandably take the Shire some time to digest and confirm the new restrictions and identify who is eligible for care however please be assured you will recieve an update shortly.

Stay safe all and please take care of yourselves both physically and mentally 💖

I would just like to say a massive thank you to our amazing families within our FDC community!
The care and consideration from everyone when children are unwell, even when children are just a little bit under the weather has been amazing.

Thank you for keeping our FDC community healthy, safe and open, it is not easy within childcare and so I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone! 🥰

As per the Governments direction, we are still open for day care and will provide Before and After School Care as per usual for those children of essential workers.

Please note that we do require families to please not enter the service until further notice.
Sign in/out will be completed at the entry gate and for little ones this is also where handover will take place.
The older children are welcome to come through independently once signed in.

During lunch we participated in the National Simultaneous Storytelling event!

This event is super cool as it allows everyone from all over the globe...or even space to join in for a storytelling session!

Today's story was Give me some space and it was read by an real astronaut live from the International Space Station!

📚 Today the Day Care program had their first weekly visit to the library! 📚

Wow, what great fun we had! As we were a little early we took the time to take a walk and have an explore of the memorial garden next door.
We explored the autumn nature surrounding us such as the yellow, brown and red leaves🍂

As soon as 9:30am rolled around we were the first in to explore what magical stories and adventures this wonderful storyland had to offer.

We read so many amazing stories, big stories, short stories, pop up stories, fluffy stories and all the stories in-between!

After we had explored the bookshelves and read a few tales, it was soon time to sit down for the 10am storytelling session which the library offers.
Before we knew it we were joined by many other children who all gathered to join us in the storytelling circle.

We sang songs and of course listened to a few amazing stories, one of which was called Give me some space which is the book of choice for this year as part of the National Simultaneous Storytime!

What an absolutely lovely morning enjoyed by all and explored by all!

We just wanted to say that we truly value each and every one of you who has joined our FDC family and become such an important part of our community.
We have such a beautiful balance and atmosphere here in our little world of FDC and we cannot thank you enough for the amazing journey it has been so far!

Confirming we will be open tomorrow! We are feeling so much better than yesterday so with one more rest day today we are looking forward to being open again!

Flu shot has been booked so hopefully this protects me from getting every little thing out there as we head into the colder months 🤞

A massive thank you to our families who have been so understanding of the requirement to close regardless of the inconvenience it inevitably causes. Whilst closing is our least preferable option, we only ever close with the intention to keep all our FDC families healthy as well as giving ourselves the chance to recover.
So thank you for your understanding!🥰
