Are you ?

Being a full time parent .. school holidays are the busiest & the most rewarding time of the year for me.

However the business owner in me used to dread school holidays ,they are toughest time for me.

Last year I decided to change my perspective and instead of looking at my children as competition to my business I started to involve them , take them to my meetings ask them what they think about my speeches and workshops.

Yesterday was one such meeting, they helped pack away, listened to me and other speakers talk and took my pictures too !

I love that my elder daughter (she is 8 ) will be at registration desk and then will also be delivering a section on how creativity can enhance your confidence.

My vision is to empower more children so that we can have more

Do you speak fast ?

Here are my three top tips to slow down :

1. Add a pause

When you add a conscious breath to your talk, it helps your brain to slow to down and hence the signal goes from your brain can actually help you slow down.

2. Limit the information you share

This is one thing that I am working on these days and that is say less, but let your words be meaningful and impactful. The most common mistake I can is we wanting to share as much information as possible in a short time frame, and that then triggers our brain to tell us to speak fast

3. Ask a question

This is the most practical and easy to do tip of these three. When you ask a question, your speech goes down to zero. You then would wait for the reply from your audience ( even if it as simple as asking them to raise a hand) which then adds the conscious pause and then helps you slow down in your speech.
