Such a fantastic evening yesterday at the Small Business Meet and Greet - Focus on Well Being at our home base Club Lawson !

I absolutely loved this month's event because it was less about the nuts and bolts of running a business, and more of an opportunity to learn how people manage their physical and mental wellbeing amidst the stress of being a small business owner.

As usual, we went around the table for introductions and elevator pitches, which brought out some very candid and inspiring stories on how others are managing themselves to stay strong.

It was also great to see so many new businesses in attendance, with a great deal of networking happening after the discussion!

A very special thanks to Coach Lynda Roger for taking the time to prepare her 'Wellness Wheel', which was incredibly well received, as well as the article she wrote especially for this event (I will share this in a separate post).

And a big thank you to Michelle from Streamliners who kindly volunteered to read the article to the group and kept everyone intently engaged while doing so!

👉 Regarding next month's event: This actually coincides with a council small business event in Springwood. I will share those details soon, as it will be highly worthwhile for members—especially new business owners—to attend. I'll post about that shortly.

👉 Also, if you haven't registered on the SBA website yet, I highly encourage you to do so! It's a completely free, volunteer-run directory for Blue Mountains businesses to list on, designed to connect the community with true local businesses that commit to doing the right thing by the customer.

Register here: www.sbalocal.com.au

(All outstanding registrations will be uploaded this weekend, promise!)

Thanks again for an awesome event. I love the local small business community we have here and look forward to many more to come! ✨

*** 10 DAYS TO GO UNTIL THE 10TH MEET AND GREET *** I asked our creative copywriter Alfred Ingleburt (aka AI 😅) to list the three main reasons why small business owners and sole traders should join the monthly Small Business Meet and Greets.. here's what they said:

1. Build Powerful Local Referral Networks

Word-of-mouth is everything in the Mountains. Meeting face-to-face with other local operators builds the genuine trust needed to trade direct client referrals and grow your business organically.

2. Share Knowledge and Solve Hyper-Local Challenges

From navigating local council regulations to managing seasonal demand drops, peer business owners offer practical, real-world advice because they are dealing with the exact same regional market conditions.

3. Combat the Isolation of Solo Operations

Running a business or working as a sole trader can be incredibly isolating. These regular monthly catch-ups provide essential community support, fresh motivation, and a space to celebrate wins with people who truly understand the grind.

I must say I think they pretty much nailed it! 💪

If you plan to come please don't forget to hit GOING on the Facebook event page (linked to this post), as. SBA volunteers set up the tables and chairs in advance so knowing numbers is a great help 👍

Hope to see many new and familiar faces there!

Thanks as always to Club Lawson for being great hosts and supporting the blue mountains small business community.
