Christmas is fast approaching, and I have been one to say, “New Year, new me”. 2025 is going to see Maestro Media rebranded under the Fine-Tuned PR banner (go follow on Instagram so you don't miss out on what follows).

The second half of this year has brought with it many aha moments, and the demand for overall branding has seen us work with professionals serious about taking their brand to the next level.

As Stephen King once said, “Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work".

We work with "the rest of us". Our clients are business owners and creators of products and solutions. They know the value of partnering with someone as passionate about success and appreciate the skillsets provided in person and virtually. It is all branding, from website design to logo and marketing resources, music press kits and publicity, and even leadership coaching.

Whilst we are at full capacity for the remainder of 2024, Anna and I have been compiling a waitlist of clients who want to jump on board the Fine-Tuned PR train in 2025.

A new rate card will be supplied to existing clients that will meet industry benchmarks.

We will be taking a break from December 18 to January 14.

In 2025, we look forward to releasing bonus episodes for Season 1 of Business On The Border, and continuing to work with brands that are serious about growth.

Time to share a little of my behind the scenes, as a mum who had three kids in two years. If I had a dollar for every time someone said, “you’ve got your hands full”, I’d be rich. But money isn’t my driver, nor does it make me happy. Creating a positive change in the world around me is my primary driver.

You could judge me for sitting next to my 4 year old son at bedtime with my laptop while he sleeps. Truth be told, I’d read him a book and he then asked me to work next to him. My keystrokes on my Mac are a familiar, comforting sound.

When he was 4 months old, we all learnt the spicy cough was among us. I’d just started a new podcast, and if I wasn’t holding him in my arms during Zoom audio interviews, he was asleep next to me. At the time, I hosted and produced Behind The Music with Ellie D. It’s no surprise to me that he now loves music and wants to be John Mayer.

It feels like many of us are working mums or dads, juggling parenthood with the desire to provide a better future for our children. My quest is a little different in that I am driven not for financial reasons but to provide the example that mum can do more than change nappies.

It’s ok if you want to be 100% with your children and not work.

It’s also ok if you want to do both.

My son loves meeting my clients, and takes a keen interest in what Mummy does. It’s my hope my twin daughters also show an interest. Perhaps not in my career choice, but knowing they too can chase their dreams should they become parents someday.

I became a mum late in life, due to circumstances beyond my control. All I knew was my career. It now delights me that I can be a loving mum and pursue what I studied so hard to do well.

Let’s pull this fence down and gain an appreciation for whatever fills your cup.

Tonight I attended the where I feel so very proud to have been awarded the title of Finalist for the category of Outstanding New Business.

Three years ago, I lay in a hospital bed at unsure of the future for my unborn identical twins. To distract myself, I built a business plan for when I “got out” of hospital. I mulled over so many of my skills, which was a huge challenge because of my multidisciplinary skills.

Right now, I want to thank ALL involved in these awards. From to and for getting behind my business community. This gives businesses like my own the opportunity to reflect on our wins and our challenges.

Tonight a fellow business owner reminded me that I spent 100% of my business time focused on sharing how fabulous my clients are (three of which are also finalists) but this is a celebration of my brand.

For every night I’ve stayed up into the early hours on Business On The Border, and every day my clients have understood I’m working from home with my little ones around me. Thank you.

It has been a HUGE day for Alison Newman who released her EP, “Wolf” today.

I first met Alison back in 2022 when she was kind enough to interview me on her podcast, The Art of Being a Mum. At the time, I headed up OzNow Radio and was podcasting about the Australian music community.

It’s a little known fact that I’ve a multidisciplinary skillset which includes the provision of Music PR.

To be sharing Alison Newman’s album, centred around her journey through post natal depression, is super meaningful to me.

Her lead track, “Things Are About To Get Dark” is now available across all streaming platforms. In the famous words of Molly Meldrum, do yourself a favour… especially if you’re a mum or dad. You will feel seen, and heard.

Last night I did something to my hand while cleaning my kids room. The immediate bruise and swelling had me worried I’d broken my hand. Still not sure if I have a fracture or soft tissue injury, but it’s my dominant hand that I’ve injured.

This week I am asking for a little patience as I navigate the challenges of moving slower on emails.

There is something exciting I’ll be sharing once I get on top of this hiccup (yes, there always seems to be something).

You’re only dealt the cards you know how to play. That’s my takeaway from the challenges I’ve faced and continue to work through x
