I am so excited to share that this is the very first retreat I will be supporting with Ebb & Haven founders Sheree & Sara. I couldn’t be more chuffed to be part of this with these two incredible women.

This 5 day retreat has been carefully and lovingly designed by women for women in leadership. The location is spectacular and so are the facilitators. I’ll be bringing the yoga and wellbeing activities to each day.

Great workshop today with a high school executive team.

Our topics included:
- resilience through the pandemic
- leader, staff & student well-being
- change leadership through the unchartered waters of Covid-19
- whole of school strategy
- mindfulness based well being tools; understanding our explanatory style (how we make sense of what is happening right now, the thoughts and emotions we have and the story we tell ourselves). What to do when we come to a ‘choice point’, how to ‘reflect, rest and reset’ (Adam Fraiser’s 3rd Space model).

What stands out about today for me is that we need to remember that the way we talk to ourselves really matters. The thoughts and emotions that come from the stories that we tell ourselves impact what we do in the moment - and the choices we have to stay in a headspace that is either going to keep us where we are, or enable us to take that one step toward being the person that we really want to be. Being able to manage this can impact our well-being - right in the moment that we are faced with challenges.

If you get stuck in this space don’t hesitate to reach out for some tools to make this easier. Cultivating positive thoughts and emotions broadens our ability to think more clearly, make more meaningful connections with others and broaden our thought action repitoire (Barbara Fredrickson). It allows us more internal resources to stay focused on what we want to achieve in each moment.

Today was a hugely rewarding first day back at work.

I’ve been working with a school Executive Team each year for the past 3 years. Annually I meet each executive and discover what their challenges have been and how their individual and collective leadership has developed. I custom design coaching programs to help them to meet these challenges. With each year their toolkit of leadership skills has been added to. They have worked together using those skills and today’s individual interviews have shown just how far they’ve come.

Over the years they’ve learnt about;
- staff engagement and motivation
- change leadership
- strategic planning
- developing vision and values
- engaging in positive conflict

The results?
- Their relationships are better than they’ve ever been.
- Their cohesiveness as a leadership
team, even with the challenges brought about by covid - has improved significantly.
- The work we have done provided them with a solid foundation to understand and lead through change.
- They are pleased with how they’ve managed things.
- They are eager to keep learning and focus on wellbeing next.

And as their Executive Coach I couldn’t be prouder of how they have applied the scientific evidence based tools On Point Coaching and Consulting has helped them engage with.

I really enjoyed learning about happiness as one of the final subjects of the Masters in Coaching Psychology a couple of years ago.

This is a great episode that touches on the research about the different types of happiness, what causes happiness, what detracts from it and how happiness can wax and wane throughout our lives.
