A fantastic day at 𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐞, 𝐇𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧, with 35 graziers and agriculture professionals joining us from across the Burdekin, Flinders, Fitzroy and Lake Eyre catchments.

There was plenty of practical, producer-led conversation — 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧, to technology on-property, staffing, supplementation and soil carbon.

We also took a look at the leucaena trial underway at Dunluce and the potential opportunities for productivity and animal performance.

The segment was filmed around the recent Willowlee Showcase Day near Wagga Wagga, where there was plenty of conversation about Halter, grazing management and the decisions that sit behind making new technology work within a livestock business.

Technology may provide the tools, but good grazing management still comes back to understanding the principles, planning well and making informed decisions.

A fantastic turnout for the 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐚 𝐖𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐚, hosted by Michael Gooden and facilitated by RCS Advisor Andrew Dowd.

Michael generously opened the gates and shared his journey at Willowlee — the changes he’s made, what he’s learned along the way, and how RCS grazing principles continue to influence the way he manages his land, livestock and business.

Michael and Andrew also joined the panel discussion, sharing their respective journeys and plenty of practical insights around grazing management and decision-making — with the RCS Halter spreadsheet getting more than a few mentions as a valuable tool for putting some numbers around livestock decisions.

The day even caught the attention of 7NEWS Riverina, with Michael and Andrew speaking to the local news about the event and what’s happening on the ground at Willowlee.
