Simultaneous & Consecutive Interpretation

Simultaneous & Consecutive Interpretation Everything about the art of interpretation I am Turan Aliyev, free lance interpreter & translator.

However, I must admit that due to the increased workload of simultaneous & consecutive interpretation inquiries, I have been less concentrated lately on written assignments. I have received my bachelor's degree in Public Administration from "Gafgaz" Private University in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2000. I got a scholarship in the same year to study my master's degree in Southwest Missouri State Universit

y, USA. I worked and lived in the USA for almost 5 years in related fields. I have always been keen on linguistics, to be more precise--in English since I was 8 years old. I have been actively involved in free lance simultaneous&consecutive interpretation upon my return from the US back in 2005. I work in various disciplines (find more in detailed info) with NGO's, EU Twinning and other projects, state agencies and bodies, UN agencies, with almost all of the ministries, financial institutions, non-profit organizations, etc. I have taken the liberty and personal initiative to specialize in various domains. I truly love interpreting and conveying the right message to the target audience; when I started my work, I was told to be bored soon enough, however, quite contrary has happened so far. I find it very rewarding and encouraging to be appreciated by the audience, which adds up additional impetus to turn my job into tenure. I am very flexible and willing to negotiate various pecuniary and non-pecuniary arrangements.

WE WILL BURY YOU

At the height of the cold war, Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev gave a speech in which he uttered a phrase that interpreted from Russian as "we will bury you." It was taken as chilling threat to bury the U.S. with a nuclear attack and escalated the tension between the U.S. and Russia. However, the translation was a bit too literal. The sense of the Russian phrase was more that "we will live to see you buried" or "we will outlast you." Still not exactly friendly, but not quite so threatening.
