THE RISE OF COLLABORATIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP: SEPARATE PATHS - SHARED POWER
In this edition of Excellence in Action, hosted by Jerry DaC Blenman, Executive Director of the Caribbean Center for Organizational Excellence, we shone the spotlight on two trailblazing who are redefining what early-stage business success looks like.
Kerrie Carr, Founder of Grandeur Skin Lab, a dynamic aesthetic business and learning institute dedicated to empowering young, aspiring beauty professionals and,
Jelisa Daniel is the Founder of Jedani Sapphire’s Vault, a premium skincare brand dedicated to delivering high-quality, locally crafted products alongside professional aesthetic services.
Each began their journey independently, driven by vision, fuelled by passion, and tested by the harsh realities that define the entrepreneurial path. Limited resources, market-entry challenges, operational pressures, and the constant demand for resilience formed the backdrop to their early experiences. Yet, what distinguishes their story is not simply their ability to endure, but their ability to think differently.
Rather than viewing each other as competition, they identified an opportunity, an alignment of value propositions, complementary offerings, and shared ambition. What emerged was not a merger, nor a dependency, but a strategic synergy: two distinct enterprises, maintaining their independence, while intentionally leveraging each other’s strengths to accelerate growth.
This collaboration became a force multiplier.
By aligning elements of their operations, from market access and customer engagement to product bundling and shared visibility, they unlocked efficiencies, expanded their reach, and strengthened their market positioning. More importantly, they demonstrated a critical truth often overlooked in entrepreneurship:
“Growth is not always about doing more alone, it is about doing better together”.
Their journey is a case study in modern entrepreneurial thinking where collaboration is not a compromise, but a competitive advantage.
In this conversation, we explored:
• The realities of starting and stabilizing a business in a challenging environment
• The mindset required to move from survival to structured growth
• How trust, clarity, and shared value enabled a powerful business synergy
• The practical ways they leveraged each other’s strengths without losing identity
• Lessons for other entrepreneurs seeking to scale intelligently
This was more than an interview; it was Excellence in Action.... Real life experiences of what happens "When Grit Meets Strategic Collaboration."
It was a reflection of what becomes possible when meets , and when entrepreneurs recognize that is not just built individually, but can be amplified collectively.
