Did you know??

A woman can conceive while she is ALREADY pregnant. It is known as superfetation. This happens when a pregnant woman releases an egg within a few weeks of conception, and the fertilized egg becomes embedded in the lining of the womb. This results in two embryos, of different ages forming in the uterus...

Weird things that happen during pregnancy

Congratulations! You’re having a baby, everyone tells you how wonderful it will be but they forget to mention some of the things that can happen to you during your pregnancy. Don’t worry, the ladies of Glow have got your back…

• Snoring – Congestion combined with swollen mucous membranes forces you to breathe through your mouth and snore.

• Sweating – Your metabolism is in overdrive and extra blood is pumping through your body warming the skin.

• Drooling – Some pregnant women have been known to produce up to four quarts of excess saliva daily.

• Bloating and gas – Due to an increase in progesterone in the body the intestines become sluggish.

• Vaginal leaking – Can be caused by drinking excess liquids or the baby sitting on your bladder.

Did you know?

It is said that the best time of the day to take a home pregnancy test is first thing in the morning because that is when your hCG levels are high in your urine. Bear in mind though that if you go to the bathroom several times that night it will affect your levels…

So you think you may be pregnant?

A home pregnancy test can confirm your pregnancy as early as four days before your period is due, or seven days after conception. Can’t wait that long? Here are some early telltale signs:
• Nausea and or nausea with vomiting
• Exhaustion
• Strong food cravings or food aversions
• Increase need to urinate
• Tender or swollen breasts
• Slight bleeding – this is known as implantation and occurs when the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus.

Due to hormonal changes you may experience:
• Mood swings (I cried when my husband bought a snack for me without my asking)
• Constipation and Bloating – as your digestive system may slow down
• Headaches

Always good to know...

You have been so tired lately, you get up from your desk 20 times a day to use the ladies' room, and your bra feels like it has a stranglehold on your chest. It's too early to know if you've missed your period yet, but are these the early signs of pregnancy?

What's the quirkiest thing you've ever heard someone say they did (or told you to do) to get pregnant...did it work?
