📢 Productive Meeting with DG of DOT! 📣

Yesterday (20/06/2024), we had a constructive meeting with the honorable Director General (DG) of DOT to discuss ways to streamline the DOT Certificate process and address bribery protection by DOT inspectors.

We are pleased to share that the DG is very positive and supportive, even willing to go out of the box to assist us. We sincerely thank him and his team for their commitment.

Based on our request, he has also replaced the earlier inspector and informed everyone about the changes.

We are thrilled to let you know that the EC committee had a very positive and fruitful meeting today with the honorable State Minister of Commerce, Mr. Ahsanul Islam (Titu), MP. He is very knowledgeable and an expert in the RMG sector, especially in buying and trading businesses.

We requested export permission for BGBA members to participate in all international trade fairs with subsidiary costs. He was very optimistic about allowing us, but he needs statistical data on our contribution to export and employment. He provided us with several important pieces of guidance, which the EC team will work on with BGBA members.

The meeting was attended by BGBA Honorable President Mohammad Mofazzal Hosen Pabel, Secretary General Mohammed Zakir Hossain, Vice President A.K.M Saifur Rahman, Joint Secretary Generals Md. Emdadul Haque & Md. Roman Mia, and Treasurer Md. Fazlul Haque.

📣 BGBA Monthly Standing Committee Meeting at Uttara Club

The Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) recently held its monthly standing committee meeting at Uttara Club. Each committee was allotted 5 minutes to discuss their achievements and actions from the past month, as well as to outline their action plans for the next 6 months and the coming year.

This structured approach ensured a productive meeting, with clear goals and strategies set to drive our association forward. Together, we aim to achieve significant milestones and continue our collective growth.

Yesterday, at Intertek Bangladesh, the 'Inspiration' event organized by Textile Focus brought together key stakeholders from the textile sector, including representatives from BGMEA, BKMEA, and the RMG industry. BGBA President Mofazzal Hossain Pabel was also in attendance at this inspiring gathering.

Dear Beloved Members,

Yesterday, we had a productive visit to the DOT office to discuss several important topics, including strategies for increasing RMG exports and enhancing our database system. Our team had the opportunity to meet with the honorable DG, Director, Additional Director, and other key officials to convey BGBA's expectations from DOT. We are pleased to share that the honorable DG has confirmed his full support for all BGBA members.

Additionally, the Additional Director, who oversees BGBA DOT licenses, assured us of his commitment to providing any necessary support to BGBA.

Overall, the meeting was highly successful in strengthening the relationship between DOT and BGBA. We look forward to continued collaboration and support.

He has confirmed that he will attend upcoming BGBA event and he would support BGBA if any help required from government side.
