BEETLSL, a distinguished environmental & social consultancy firm in Bangladesh, boasts an in-house laboratory facility dedicated to environmental engineering and accredited by the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB).
We are actively recruiting a full-time Associate Environmental Consultant (EHS Officer) to contribute to our upcoming projects.
Position Details
Designation: Associate Environmental Consultant (EHS Officer)
Location: Anywhere in Bangladesh (as per project requirement).
Type: Full Time
Salary: Negotiable
*The candidate must be able to relocate to anywhere in Bangladesh as per project requirement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Environmental Assessments & Planning
Assist in preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Initial Environmental Examinations (IEE), and Environmental Management Plans (EMP) for development projects.
Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data to assess potential impacts.
Draft comprehensive reports with clear recommendations for mitigation and management.
2. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
Ensure project compliance with Bangladesh’s local environmental laws and World Bank’s ESHS requirements.
Liaise with regulatory bodies for necessary environmental permits and approvals.
Monitor and document compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Environmental Monitoring & Sampling
Develop and implement site-specific environmental monitoring programs.
Conduct regular monitoring of air, water, soil, and noise at the project site.
Collect samples of surface water, ground water, and drinking water for laboratory analysis.
Prepare and submit periodic monitoring reports to project stakeholders and funding agencies.
4. Health, Safety & Risk Management
Identify potential EHS risks associated with project activities and recommend preventive measures.
Monitor occupational health and safety practices on-site to align with environmental safeguards.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
5. Sustainability & Resource Management
Promote adoption of sustainable practices in project ex*****on, including waste reduction, resource conservation, and energy efficiency.
Support the integration of environmental sustainability into construction and operational phases.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with local communities and stakeholders to address environmental and social concerns.
Facilitate consultations, awareness sessions, and workshops on environmental safeguards.
Prepare communication materials related to project environmental management.
7. Training & Capacity Building
Conduct training sessions for project staff on environmental management and safety practices.
Strengthen capacity of local project teams to ensure compliance with World Bank EHS requirements.
8. Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with international experts to align practices with global standards.
Maintain thorough documentation of all environmental assessments, monitoring, and compliance activities.
Prepare regular reports for submission to funding agencies, government bodies, and stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering/Science, or related disciplines.
Sound knowledge on various Bangladesh’s environmental laws.
Strong understanding of World Bank ESHS requirements.
Excellent English communication skills (listening, speaking, writing).
Experience in Environmental Compliance related field such as sampling, monitoring, inspection.
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in the environmental field.
Proven experience in preparing environmental assessments, EMPs, and reports.
