BSCI Trick: “The 3C Method – Collect, Cross-check, Communicate”
Use this 3-step approach to stay confident and compliant during the BSCI audit….
1️⃣ Collect – Be Audit-Ready, Not Audit-Alarmed
• Keep evidence files (attendance records, payroll, training logs, grievance reports, etc.) organized by BSCI Performance Area (PA 1–13).
• Maintain a “BSCI Quick Folder” — a small binder or digital folder with the latest key documents (policy updates, worker committee minutes, etc.).
🔹 Tip: Label files clearly (e.g., “PA 4 – No Discrimination”) so you can locate them instantly when asked.
2️⃣ Cross-check – Align Practice with Paper
• Before the audit, cross-check what’s written in documents with actual factory practices.
Example: If attendance records show “no overtime,” confirm workers also say so in interviews.
• Review any new BSCI protocol changes (e.g., updated working hours calculation or grievance mechanism requirements) and ensure both HR and production teams are aware.
3️⃣ Communicate – Stay Calm and Consistent
• During interviews or walkthroughs, answer briefly, factually, and consistently.
Avoid overexplaining or guessing — if unsure, say: “Let me confirm that information for accuracy.”
• Be polite and cooperative — BSCI auditors now emphasize worker engagement and management transparency under the new protocols.
