Though there is much debate about the evolution of microfinance, Bangladesh still takes the pride of formalizing this through a proper institutional base and popularizing microfinance as one key tool to dwell poverty. From Grameen Bank’s institutional learning to BRAC’s holistic, integrated development approach; from ASA’s sustainable model to BURO’s strict focus on commercialization; and many more dimensions of modern microfinance industry had been unveiled in Bangladesh.
