Under the Youth-Focused Media and Information Literacy (MIL) for an Informed Bangladesh initiative of the UN Electoral BALLOT Project, a Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Workshop was successfully held on 11 July 2026 at North South University.

The event was organized by the Department of Management, North South University, in collaboration with the Department of Information Studies, East West University, UNESCO Dhaka, and MILNetBD.

The workshop was facilitated by Faculty Fellow Quazi Tafsirul Islam, Senior Lecturer of Strategy and Human Resources at the School of Business and Economics, North South University, and brought together 20 students from diverse academic departments, creating an engaging interdisciplinary learning environment.

The resource persons for the session were Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, President of MILNetBD and Chairperson of the Department of Information Studies, East West University; Md. Hasinul Elahi, General Secretary of MILNetBD and Senior Lecturer, Department of Information Studies, East West University; and Ashik Rayhan, Lecturer, Department of Information Studies, East West University.

Through interactive discussions, collaborative activities, and practical exercises, participants strengthened their understanding of media and information literacy and developed essential skills for navigating todayโ€™s complex digital information ecosystem.

By empowering future leaders with practical media and information literacy competencies, the workshop reinforced the shared commitment of the collaborating institutions to equipping youth with the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to make informed decisions in the digital age.

Empowering Students Through Media and Information Literacy at Daffodil International University

Under the Youth-Focused Media and Information Literacy (MIL) for an Informed Bangladesh initiative of UNESCO Electoral BALLOT Project, a Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Workshop was successfully held on 3rd June 2026 at Daffodil International University. The event was organized by the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, in collaboration with the Department of Information Studies, East West University, UNESCO Dhaka, and MILNetBD.

The workshop brought together 30 students from different academic departments, creating an engaging interdisciplinary learning environment. Through interactive discussions, collaborative activities, and practical exercises, participants strengthened their understanding of media and information literacy and developed essential skills for navigating todayโ€™s complex digital information ecosystem.

Building Critical Thinkers: MIL Workshop at Varendra University

As part of the Youth-Focused Media and Information Literacy (MIL) for an Informed Bangladesh initiative under the UNESCO Electoral BALLOT Project, a Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Workshop was successfully organized on 12 May 2026 at Varendra University. The program was hosted by the Department of Sociology, Varendra University, in collaboration with the Department of Information Studies, East West University, UNESCO Dhaka, and MILNetBD.

The workshop engaged 20 students in interactive learning sessions focused on developing critical thinking, responsible digital engagement, and informed decision-making in todayโ€™s rapidly evolving information landscape. Through practical activities and discussions, participants explored strategies for identifying credible information, verifying online content, and recognizing the impact of misinformation and disinformation on individuals and society.

Together, initiatives like these continue to strengthen youth capacity to navigate digital spaces with confidence, integrity, and critical awareness.

As part of the Youth-Focused Media and Information Literacy (MIL) for an Informed Bangladesh initiative under the UNESCO Electoral BALLOT Project, a Media and Information Literacy (MIL) workshop was successfully held on 24 April 2026 at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). The event was organized by the Department of Public Administration, SUST, in collaboration with the Department of Information Studies, East West University, UNESCO Dhaka, and MILNetBD.

The workshop brought together 25 students who participated enthusiastically in a series of interactive discussions and hands-on activities designed to strengthen their media and information literacy skills. Among the distinguished resource persons was Dr. Dilara Begum, President of MILNetBD and Chairperson of the Department of Information Studies, East West University.

Throughout the session, participants explored the importance of critically evaluating information, verifying sources, and navigating digital platforms responsibly. The workshop addressed contemporary challenges such as misinformation, disinformation, and the growing complexity of the online information environment.

On 21 April 2026, a dynamic Media and Information Literacy (MIL) workshop was conducted at University of Rajshahi under the Youth-Focused MIL for an Informed Bangladesh initiative of the UNESCO Electoral BALLOT Project in collaboration with Department of Information Studies, East West University, UNESCO Dhaka, and MILNetBD.

The session engaged a total of 21 participants, bringing together a diverse group of students who actively took part in discussions and interactive activities. The workshop focused on enhancing participantsโ€™ ability to access, evaluate, and use information effectively in an age of information overload and widespread misinformation.

Through collaborative exercises and real-life examples, participants developed a deeper understanding of identifying credible sources, recognizing misinformation, and practicing responsible digital citizenship. The session also encouraged critical thinking and informed decision-making, which are essential skills for academic and everyday contexts.

A Media and Information Literacy (MIL) workshop was held at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on 9 April 2026 under the Youth-Focused MIL for an Informed Bangladesh initiative of the UN Electoral BALLOT Project.

As part of the Youth-Focused Media and Information Literacy (MIL) for an Informed Bangladesh initiative under the UN-led Ballot Project, Jahangirnagar University successfully organized a workshop on Media and Information Literacy on 6 April 2026, with 34 participants from different departments.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with UNESCO Dhaka, the Department of Information Studies at East West University, and MILNetBD, bringing together participants to enhance awareness and skills related to critical thinking, responsible information use, and digital citizenship.
