A Moment of Immense Pride: DScE Student Secures a Prestigious LSE Fellowship!
We are incredibly proud to announce a monumental achievement for the Department of Entrepreneurship Economics! Our brilliant student, Mst. Fahomida Begum has been selected for the highly competitive and fully funded Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) programme at the world-renowned London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Fahomida’s selection for the 2026/27 residential cohort of the MSc in Inequalities and Social Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) reflects her strong academic background, extensive professional experience, and commitment to social and economic equity. Currently in the final semester of her MSS in Entrepreneurship Economics at the Dhaka School of Economics, University of Dhaka, she has also earned an MSS and Honours in Economics, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management for NGO & Development (UK), a Diploma in Agriculture, and completed an English as a Second Language (ESL) program in Canada. Her diverse academic journey and practical leadership in development work make her well prepared for this prestigious opportunity.
Alongside her studies, she is actively driving social change as a Case Management Specialist and Project Coordinator at Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra. She is also the Co-Founder of the Rural Economic Development Organisation (REDO), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to empowering women and youth, providing emergency relief, education, rehabilitation programmes, and implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives. Furthermore, she actively applies her entrepreneurial mindset as the CEO and Dress Designer of Shaheda Desire of Fashion and the Co-Founder & CEO of Quddus Farm Ranch.
Fahomida's remarkable journey from a dedicated development professional and multi-sector entrepreneur in Bangladesh to a global fellow at LSE highlights exactly what we stand for at the Department of Entrepreneurship Economics. We do not just teach textbook theories; we incubate dynamic leaders, visionaries, and change-makers equipped to make a real-world impact.
