When I first started my career in the garment industry, I used to think “quality” simply meant finding defects.
But very soon I realized-quality is not about detecting problems. It is about preventing them.
In the early days, I was mostly involved in inspection activities-checking garments, reporting defects, and ensuring shipment compliance. I followed systems, but I didn’t fully understand the system behind the system.
The turning point came when I got the opportunity to work closely with QMS implementation and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
That’s when everything changed.
I began to see how documentation, process control, training, and leadership all connect to build a strong quality culture-not just a quality department.
There were challenges.
Resistance to change.
Pressure of shipment deadlines.
Repetitive quality failures in similar processes.
But each challenge taught me something deeper:
👉 Real improvement doesn’t come from inspection-it comes from ownership at every level.
Over time, I started focusing on building systems, training teams, reducing defects at root level, and strengthening CAPA processes instead of just reacting to issues.
Today, I can confidently say-my journey in Quality, QA, QE, and QMS is not just about managing processes, it’s about transforming mindsets.
And I am still learning.
Because in Quality, excellence is not a destination-it’s a continuous journey.
