Ever considered that the drink bottle you’re using every single day may be harmful for your health?
The materials are important because whatever the water touches we consume.
Did you know that most insulated bottles still contain lead?!?!?!
Lead based solder is still used in almost all insulated water bottles on the market.
Solder is the material used to seal in the vacuum layer into your steel water bottles. It is found at the base of every insulated stainless steel water bottle.
Sadly I see too often people trying to do the right thing by using a plastic reusable bottle however these aren’t much better than the plastic single use. When plastic hits sunlight and heat it cause a reaction and it releases toxic chemicals into the water you’re drinking, makinglll
Glass and stainless steel is what you are looking for.
One of the main reasons I love glass is because it is so safe. It is generally completely inert (i.e., non-reactive and non-leaching) and is impermeable to liquids and gases making it one of the most non toxic materials you can find. Although this wouldn’t be a great option for the kiddos.
What to look for when choosing a bottle -
Stainless steel BUT must also be of the highest grade - 18/8 or 304
Try to find a product that has zero plastic, including the lid and straw
Also consider what paints are used, is it lead free?
I have put together a list of some of the best that I could find, if you know of any others please drop in the comments below and if for some reason I made a mistake let me know…
Ive also with request put together a list of some other popular ones after you requested it on my stories and many people were saying to me ‘what about my yeti’ - ‘what about my frank green?’
I have listed the materials they are made from, some had food grade stainless steel but other parts that weren’t great. Joco that made this list was actually not a bad bottle at all!
Remember buying a high quality bottle is an investment thats worth every penny for your health.
