Two-Day Youth Digital Engagement Workshop Begins at SUST
A two-day (17 and 18th April) training workshop titled “Developing Youth Competencies for Safe and Responsible Digital Engagement” commenced at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet.
Supported by UNESCO, the program is jointly organized by the Election Lab, Department of Political Studies (SUST), the ULAB Centre for Critical and Qualitative Studies (CQS), and Fact Watch. The opening session was held at the New Social Science Building with participation from academics, researchers, and students.
The inaugural session was graced by Vice-Chancellor Dr. A. M. Sarwaruddin Chowdhury as Chief Guest. Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Md Shajedul Karim attended as Special Guest, while Treasurer Dr. Md Ismail Hossain was also present. The session was chaired by Dr. Md Nazrul Islam, Head(In-charge), Dept of Political Studies)
The program began with remarks by Director of Election Lab Dr. Md Shahabul Haque, followed by a welcome speech from Deputy Director of Election Lab Dr. Zayeda Sharmin. Presentations were delivered by Noor Hasnat Emon and ENESCO lead Shakil Foysal, alongside Md. Riaz Uddin Khan, faculty of ULAB. A goodwill speech was given by Dr. Md Monirul Islam, Director, Iternational Center.
The workshop focuses on strengthening youth skills in safe digital practices, critical evaluation of information, and responsible online engagement. Activities continued through interactive sessions and discussions on the following day.
