The AI Navigators LLT2 workshop in Belgrade has successfully come to a close, marking two days of rich exchange, practical learning, and strong collaboration among partners from five countries. The sessions highlighted the growing impact of AI in education, from shared reflections to hands-on lesson design and testing.

A special thank you goes to Centar for their warm hospitality and excellent organization, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all participants. Particular appreciation to Jelena Pavlović, director of the hosting organisation, for her leadership and care in bringing everything together.

A truly well-delivered event that strengthened both partnerships and future ambitions within the AI Navigators project.
AI Navigators: Empowering Teachers for the AI Era

The second day of the AI Navigators meeting in Belgrade showcased a rich exchange of classroom practices, as teachers from five countries presented lesson plans integrating AI across diverse subjects.
Serbia contributed practical examples from chemistry and health education, while North Macedonia focused on chemistry applications. Bulgaria demonstrated how AI can support both mathematics and Bulgarian language learning, highlighting its versatility across disciplines.
Belgium stood out with an interactive social entrepreneurship lesson led by Stephane Biron, who engaged participants in real exercises. Working with AI as a thinking partner, groups explored links between the UN Sustainable Development Goals and NGOs, and developed persuasive pitches for social causes.
Croatia brought an important inclusion perspective, presenting a civic education lesson adapted for students with dyslexia, alongside a mathematics lesson.
Together, the sessions illustrated how AI can enhance subject learning, foster critical thinking, and support more inclusive and engaging classroom experiences.

Part Two of the AI Navigators meeting in Belgrade moved from reflection to practice, with a standout contribution from Belgium.
Stephane Biron delivered the only fully immersive session, inviting participants to experience his lesson plan exactly as his students do.

In this social entrepreneurship workshop, coordinators, AI Navigators, and teachers from five countries engaged in hands-on exercises designed to stretch their thinking.

Using AI as a creative partner, participants explored connections between the UN Sustainable Development Goals and real NGOs, then developed and presented persuasive pitches to support a chosen cause.

The session demonstrated how AI can move beyond efficiency and become a tool for deeper learning, critical thinking, and meaningful engagement.
By placing participants in the learner’s role, Stephane showcased a powerful, practical approach to integrating AI in the classroom, one that inspires action, beyond understanding.

Day one of the AI Navigators meeting in Belgrade hosted by Centar, brought together educators and trainers from five countries to reflect on their shared journey and early results.

The Belgian delegation led by Mindset Coaching & Training offered particularly compelling insights. Raphael Mouko described his transformation from a sceptical teacher to an active AI user, now leveraging AI as a “thinking partner” to enhance both teaching and reflection. Biron, sharing his experience as both AI Navigator and classroom teacher, highlighted the dual perspective of guiding peers while experimenting directly in practice.
Svetoslava Stoyanova complemented these views by sharing coordination lessons from Belgium, emphasizing the importance of trust-building, structured support, and iterative learning in scaling AI adoption.

Adding a regional perspective from each of the five countries of the AI Navigators: Empowering Teachers for the AI Era project, NMS Bulgaria presented pre-final evaluation results, shared by Juliana Dobreva, offering early evidence of impact.
The discussions set the stage for the next phase of the Belgrade LTTA2, where pilot teachers will present concrete lesson plans and classroom-based AI applications.

Beyond project updates and planning sessions, the AI Navigators Transnational Project Meeting provided an important opportunity for partners to strengthen cooperation, exchange experiences, and align on a shared vision for the future of AI in education.

Bringing together expertise from across Europe, the meeting reinforced our commitment to supporting teachers in developing the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to successfully integrate Artificial Intelligence into their professional practice.

Through collaboration, innovation, and mutual learning, we continue building a lasting impact that extends beyond the project itself and contributes to the digital transformation of education.

At the recent "Career Growth Festival" in Brussels Svetoslava Stoyanova, founder of New Mindset Coaching & Training (NMCT), took the stage to present the AI Navigators: Empowering Teachers for the AI Era project and her insights as coordinator of the initiative in Belgium.

The session illuminated the transformative professional journey of educators across Europe, capturing their evolution from initial skepticism about artificial intelligence to a state of empowered agency and creative pedagogical design. Stoyanova highlighted how the project bridges the gap between fast-moving tech advancements and the classroom by training select educators to become "AI Navigators." Rather than viewing AI as a threat to the human element of education, participants have embraced it as a powerful co-teaching ally.

Through targeted competence building and practical e-learning frameworks, the initiative has successfully shifted mindsets, shifting teachers away from automated administrative fatigue and unlocking new windows for creative curriculum design and deep student engagement.

Co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ program, the project continues to expand its reach, demonstrating at platforms like the Career Growth Festival that human agency and conscious leadership remain firmly at the center of the technological frontier in education.

🧩On Monday evening we had the pleasure of bringing together a small group of professionals in Belgium for a focused online session on a question that feels increasingly urgent: how do we think with AI without outsourcing our thinking to it?
With 9 engaged participants, Svetoslava Stoyanova PCC, ICF explored how to use AI not just for efficiency, but to reduce cognitive overload while preserving what matters most: our judgment, creativity, and sense-making.

A key idea that emerged was what we called the “sandwich approach”:

Human thinking → AI prompting → Human reflection

Using AI as a layer in our process & grounding outputs in our own reasoning and verifying sources remained central to the discussion. Thoughtful, reflective, and grounded in real professional challenges - this is the kind of space we aim to create with the "AI in L&D" series. Looking forward to continuing these conversations and growing this vibrant community around the philosophy and practice of AI.
