A STEEEP increase in energy savings.
“Support and Training for an Excellent Energy Efficiency Performance” is a 3-year European project co-financed by the EU Commission under the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme and implemented by EUROCHAMBRES, 35 regional and local CCIs and De Montfort University. The project is helping 630 European cross-sector small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to re
duce their energy consumption and become more energy-efficient. Companies participating in STEEEP will benefit from tailored training and guidance on effective energy management tools and practices provided by an established network of intelligent energy advisors of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCIs) from 10 different countries. The companies will learn to measure and consequently control energy costs more efficiently. An experienced academic partner will scientifically evaluate their potential for energy savings, set efficient targets and monitor progress in reducing energy consumption. Additionally, 7 pilot projects will be implemented in 7 European countries, setting up Local Energy Communities, to show the energy savings potential of collective action. STEEEP will contribute to the EU’s goal of increasing energy efficiency by 2020, while at the same time providing European SMEs with an opportunity to make substantial savings and increase their competitiveness.
