I’ve been diving into grant writing recently, and I figured—why not share some gems with those of you looking to fund your projects, nonprofits, or startups?
Grants are an amazing way to get the financial support you need, but let’s be honest—they can feel a bit confusing when you're just starting out. So… how do you make it work?
Here are a few simple things I’ve picked up:
1️⃣ Every grant is different. You’ve got to find one that truly fits your mission. A solid match can boost your chances big time—so take your time and research well.
2️⃣ It’s not just about asking—it’s about why it matters. Funders want to know the why behind your project. What’s the purpose? What impact will it make? Tell your story in a way that moves them.
3️⃣ Be clear and specific. Your goals and plans need to be well-defined. Don’t be vague—show them exactly what you want to achieve and how you plan to do it.
