Een meer dan terechte vraag van Kasper Vandenberghe in De Standaard:

“We kregen een positief advies, maar een negatieve beslissing. Dat is zuur”, klinkt het bij Kasper Vandenberghe. “Vooral dat het gebeurt op basis van het criterium over profilering en uitstraling. Met Mystica werden we dit jaar geselecteerd voor Het Theaterfestival als een van de beste voorstellingen van het jaar en speelden we onlangs op het prestigieuze RomaEuropa-festival, waar er een Vlaams netwerkevenement rond werd georganiseerd. Wat kunnen we dan meer doen?”

Twee nieuwe circusgroepen krijgen een structurele subsidie van Vlaanderen, maar vier andere sterke gezelschappen blijven in de kou staan. “Circuskunst wordt niet genoeg ernstig genomen.”

💔 Disappointing News Regarding ICE HOT Nordic Dance Platform

We are deeply saddened to hear about the postponement of the ICE HOT Nordic Platform. This is truly difficult news, particularly for the many artists who were preparing and applying.

- A Crucial Loss: ICE HOT has historically been a vital jump start for so many careers, offering unparalleled visibility and a crucial opportunity to connect their artistic work internationally.

- A Feeling of Injustice: To have this opportunity put on hold feels genuinely unjust, as platforms like this are essential. Without them, the challenge of overcoming borders and finding international presence becomes more difficult for independent artists and companies.

We sincerely hope that solutions will be found to make this important platform take place nonetheless. Our hearts go out to all the artists affected.

Let's keep the conversation going about the critical need for international platforms that support dance and performance!

…An update on ICE HOT 2026.

After a careful review of the current financial situation, the ICE HOT partners have made the difficult decision to postpone the next edition of the platform.

Despite extensive efforts and strong commitment from across the Nordic region, the project remains significantly underfunded. Even in a reduced form, it would not be possible to carry it out in a way that meets the platform’s core purpose.
