[PT/EN] Nossos agradecimentos ao Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica - Cade pela oportunidade de apresentar o estudo “Cooperação Institucional como Advocacia da Concorrência Proativa: Modelos Brasileiro e Mexicano” em um interessantíssimo debate global no webinar do International Competition Network (ICN) Advocacy Working Group (AWG). O evento sobre “Advocacia da concorrência efetiva perante governos e legisladores” reuniu autoridades antitruste e NGAs (Non-Governmental Advisors) da África, Américas, Ásia e Europa.
Thanks to Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica - Cade, we were glad to present the study “Institutional Cooperation as Proactive Advocacy: Models from Brazil and Mexico” during a truly global and fascinating debate hosted by the International Competition Network (ICN) Advocacy Working Group (AWG). The webinar on “Successful advocacy towards governments and legislators” included National Competition Authorities (NCAs) and Non-Governmental Advisors (NGAs) from Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe.

A partir de literatura da OECD - OCDE, em 1/9 fizemos uma discussão comparada para chegar aos avanços e desafios brasileiros sobre instrumentos clássicos de política regulatória; mercados digitais, dados, IA e melhoria regulatória; desenho institucional; e o trabalho em desenvolvimento pelo Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica - Cade/Ministério da Justiça, SEAE/SRE/Ministério da Fazenda, QualiREG/SFC/Controladoria-Geral da União (CGU), SCPR/MDIC, entre outros.

Eu não poderia ter sido mais bem apresentado à Executive Branch Review Conference da The Federalist Society (Washington DC, 7/5) do que encontrando e aprendendo com Susan Dudley, The George Washington University Regulatory Studies Center; e ao ABA Section of Administrative Law & Regulatory Practice Spring Paper Workshop (Washington DC, 8/5) do que recebendo comentários substanciais sob a liderança de Fred Jacob a respeito do meu working paper – igualmente grato à Section Chair-Elect Amy Wildermuth e Section Director Anne Kiefer. Grandes debates sobre direito e política regulatória em tempos de grandes desafios nos EUA e para o mundo.
I could not have had a better introduction to The Federalist Society EBR Conference (DC, May 7) than by meeting and learning from Susan Dudley, The George Washington University Regulatory Studies Center; and to the ABA Section of Administrative Law & Regulatory Practice Spring Paper Workshop (DC, May 8) than by receiving thoughtful comments led by Fred Jacob on my working paper – equally grateful to Section Chair-Elect Amy Wildermuth and Section Director Anne Kiefer. Compartilhando nosso artigo publicado hoje no The Regulatory Review, do Penn Program on Regulation, University of Pennsylvania: o DOGE (the President’s “Department of Government Efficiency”) e o Governo Trump de forma geral deveriam considerar o trabalho que vem sendo feito por organizações internacionais em matéria de política regulatória e redução do estoque regulatório, e pelo menos manter o apoio atual a tais organizações e outras assemelhadas. Isso favoreceria investimentos privados norte-americanos ao redor do mundo.

Sharing our opinion published today at The Regulatory Review of the Penn Program on Regulation, University of Pennsylvania: DOGE and the Trump Administration should consider the regulatory policy advice that have been carried out by international organizations, and at least keep the current level of support to such organizations and similar ones. This would benefit American private sector investments around the world.

International organizations can conduct research on regulatory efficiency and best practices to support DOGE’s mission.

O quanto as regulações podem prejudicar a livre concorrência? https://lnkd.in/dPqKWC5s A Secretaria de Reformas Econômicas (SRE) do Ministério da Fazenda acaba de relançar um programa que tem por objetivo justamente avaliar regulações possivelmente anticompetitivas.

Trata-se do PARC – Procedimento de Avaliação Regulatória e Concorrencial. Espera-se que esse programa aperfeiçoe o FIARC, lançado em 2020 com base na Lei de Liberdade Econômica, do ano anterior. A principal novidade seria a criação de novos mecanismos de participação social, como a realização de chamadas públicas (IN SRE/MF n. 12/2024).

How much regulations can imbalance the competitive process? The Secretariat for Economic Reforms (SRE) of the Ministry of Finance of Brazil has just relaunched a program aiming to evaluate regulations that may be producing anticompetitive effects.

The so called Regulatory and Competitive Evaluation Proceeding (PARC) is expected to improve its preceding program – FIARC, launched in 2020 and based on the Economic Liberty Act – by increasing stakeholder engagement.

A AGPR está apoiando o 1º Seminário de Mercados Digitais e Dados do IBRAC – Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos de Concorrência, Consumo e Comércio Internacional, que trará debates técnicos na fronteira entre regulação e concorrência. Reunindo representantes de distintos reguladores, será também um importante debate sobre governança regulatória e concorrencial.
AGPR is supporting the 1st Seminar on Digital Markets and Data convened by IBRAC, which will bring technical debates at the interplay between regulation and competition. Gathering different regulators, it will also be an important debate on regulatory and competition governance.
