Japan was my first time skiing, and what an experience. Our friend took us around the mountain and shared some tips along the way. The snow was already melting, not the fresh powder people rave about, but honestly, for beginners like us, it was perfect. The resort was empty. We had the whole mountain to ourselves, so we could take our time: fall down, stand up, try again, until we finally found our rhythm.
By the end, I’d actually figured it out, picking up speed, feeling the wind on my face, soaking in the landscape in front of us. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Maybe next time we’ll catch some real powder.
It still amazes me that over the past year and a half, we’ve been able to visit so many places and check off so many things we said we wanted to do. I’m so grateful for the life we’ve been consciously creating. Travel is one of the best investments, and we should do as much of it as we can while we’re young and have the energy. We literally went around the world, and as exhausting as it can be at times, it’s also deeply fulfilling.
Going to Japan to ski was on our 2026 vision board, and we did it. Proud of us. On to the next adventure.
