Since the passage of the Real Estate (Brokers and Salesmen) Act 1995, BREA has been empowered by law to be the regulatory body to oversee the practice of real estate business and the licensing of real estate agents in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The objectives for which the Association is organized are:

(1) To unite the Real Estate Brokers, and their Associates of The Bahamas for the purpose

of exerting effectively a combined positive influence upon matters affecting their profession. (2) To promote and maintain the highest standard of conduct in the transaction of the Real Estate Profession as expressed in the Code of Ethics adopted by this Association and to enforce the Code among its members in their dealings with one another and the public. (3) To prevent infringements by foreign brokers or any other unauthorized person, or Company not 100 percent owned by Bahamian Nationals, to transact the business of real estate brokerage or, in the case of a Company not 100% Bahamian owned, to employ brokers, and benefit financially thereby.

We have begun the work on the video that we are creating showcasing the benefits of buying real estate in Abaco! The aerial filming was completed last week and now the next step is to set up interviews with happy second homeowners that are enjoying Abaco to the fullest. Please contact one of the Board members if you have any past clients that you feel would be interested in being a part of this exciting video.
