As Autism Awareness Month comes to a close, I’m reflecting on what this journey continues to teach us. 🤍

This month, we shared more of Lily Rose’s world. The joy. The growth. The moments that stretch us and the ones that ground us. We talked about sensory needs, inclusive spaces, and the importance of creating environments where she can truly thrive.

But we also told the fuller story. A family story.

We honored her brothers and the love they pour into her. We acknowledged the reality of glass children and the responsibility we carry to ensure that every one of our children feels seen, heard, and supported.

Because awareness is only the starting point. What matters most is understanding, intention, and action.

For us, that looks like advocating where it’s needed, adjusting where we can, and leading with love in every season.

Thank you for following along, for learning with us, and for being part of Lily Rose’s story.

This does not end in April. 🤍

Today’s post is about Lily Rose but also about the three boys who love her so deeply. 💙 Warren, Liam and Kai 💙

Being her brothers has shaped them in the most beautiful ways. They are protective, patient, and full of compassion. But it’s also important to talk about something that isn’t always visible. Glass children.

“Glass children” are siblings of children with additional needs who can sometimes feel overlooked. Not because they are unloved, but because so much attention is rightfully directed toward the child who needs more support. They become easy, independent, and resilient, sometimes at the cost of feeling truly seen.

In our home, we are intentional about making sure that doesn’t happen.

We create space for each child to be heard.
We celebrate their individual wins.
We check in on their emotions, not just their behavior.
We remind them that their needs matter too.

Because while Lily Rose deserves understanding, support, and advocacy, so do they.

Raising a family like ours is about balance. It’s about ensuring that love is not just present, but felt by every child in the room.

And today, we honor the brothers who show up for their sister with so much love while making sure they are seen just as clearly. 🤍

Last year for Lily’s birthday, we took her to and there was nostalgia for Mom and Dad. It was a reminder of how powerful an inclusive environment can be. 💕

The experience was thoughtfully designed in a way that felt safe, engaging, and sensory-friendly—something that makes all the difference for children on the autism spectrum.

For many individuals with autism, sensory needs play a major role in how they experience the world. This can include:
✨ Sensitivity to sound (loud or unexpected noises)
✨ Sensitivity to light (bright or flashing lights)
✨ Tactile preferences (textures, touch, or movement)
✨ Need for predictability and calm spaces

When these needs are considered, environments become more than accessible. They become welcoming.

Lily Rose was able to explore, enjoy, and simply be herself without overwhelm—and that’s the goal. Every child with autism deserves spaces where they can participate fully, comfortably, and joyfully.

Inclusive design isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. 🤍

We’ve been trying these noise reduction headphones to help when Lily is over stimulated. They are a hit!

We love that they are comfy to wear and she can still hear what goes on around her. This also helps her to relax before bed.

We think she looks like a DJ. Let us know below, what would Lily’s DJ name be? 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Some days we end the ride by parking the car and having a cool drink from

Can you guess her favorite drink?

One of the ways we’ve been supporting Lily Rose is through Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).

ABA therapy applies our understanding of how behavior works to real situations. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning.

ABA therapy programs can help:
💜 Increase language and communication skills
❤️ Improve attention, focus, social skills, memory, and academics
💙Decrease problem behaviors

Our aim is to improve Lily Rose’s quality of life with early intervention.

Here is some more of Lily’s stimming. She twiddles her fingers and flap her hands.

She loves to rock and squeal with joy! We do not try to stop these behaviors once harmless.
