🐛🦋 Mental Health Moment ~ Grief Talk Series-The Grief of Su***de✨️
The Questions That May Never Have Answers
Why? Did I miss something? Was there something I could have said? Could I have stopped it?
For people grieving a death by su***de, these questions can become part of the grief itself. Conversations are replayed. Ordinary moments are examined differently. Memories that once seemed insignificant can suddenly feel like evidence that must be studied.
Hindsight can be cruel because we look backward with information we did not have at the time.
Wanting an explanation is human. So is wishing we could rewrite an ending we never expected. But grief does not always provide answers, and healing cannot depend upon solving every unanswered question.
Supporting someone after su***de means resisting the temptation to offer simple explanations. Sometimes the most meaningful support is being willing to sit with a person in the complexity of what they do not understand.
You do not have to solve someone's grief to be present in it.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing suicidal thoughts, seek urgent help from local emergency or crisis services, a healthcare professional, or a trusted person who can stay with you and help you access support.✨️
