Public health is not one-size-fits-all. In the Caribbean, it never has been.
We want to highlight a simple truth as the American Public Health Association hosts National Public Health Week under the theme βReady. Set. Action!β We cannot act effectively if we do not understand and work to suit our unique context and realities.
READY: The Caribbean faces unique public health challenges, such as weaker biodiversity that increases communicable disease risk, rising noncommunicable diseases, food and WASH systems that become unstable during climate shocks, and unequal healthcare access across islands.
SET: We need systems, strategies, and solutions designed specifically for Small Island Developing States.
ACTION: At Regal State of Health Consultancy, we translate insight into impact through program design, research, capacity building, and a suite of services and products across the region.
This week, we are defining what action looks like for Caribbean public health and shining a light on how we serve the region.
