Call for Registration: Capacity-Building Workshop for Women Entrepreneurs

With support from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) Canada in Bhutan, the Bhutan Innovation and Technology Centre (BITC), Thimphu TechPark Limited (TTPL), is organising a 3-day capacity-building workshop to strengthen digital literacy and build the capacity of women entrepreneurs in Bhutan.

The workshop will focus on practical digital skills and tools to support business growth, improve efficiency, and enhance participation in the digital economy.

📍 Thimphu: August 19 - 21, 2026
📍 Phuentsholing: August 24 - 26, 2026

The workshop is free of cost for selected participants. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the program, along with a networking opportunity on the final day.

Mid-Progress Review for the winners of BSL 2026

The five winners of the BSL 2026, incubated at BITC, presented their MVPs and shared updates during the Mid-Progress Review attended by officials from MoICE, BITC, and TTPL.

Based on their progress, the second tranche of the seed fund will be released to support the next phase of their journey. The review showcased steady progress and the potential of Bhutan's emerging entrepreneurs.

Wishing them continued progress as they scale their journey ahead.

As part of efforts to reposition Phuentshogling as a clean, safe and experiential destination for travellers entering Bhutan, a contract was signed to develop tourism branding and digital media tools for the border town. The initiative is expected to enhance urban aesthetics, strengthen Phuentshogling's position as a vibrant commercial and cultural gateway, and support local economic growth.

MVP Development Session | May 16, 2026

Facilitated by the Chief Product Officer of Thimphu Techpark, the session provided practical insights into product development, drawing from real-world experiences and directly connecting them to the startup journey.

The session was interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions, especially as many of the incubatees are currently at the MVP development stage. One-on-one mentoring sessions were also conducted with each team, providing tailored feedback on the MVPs they have developed so far.

While the Mentorship Engagement Programme concludes with this session, mentors will continue to remain available to support individual teams throughout their entrepreneurial journey.

Today, we had an engaging talk on “Crowdfunding for Entrepreneurs: Trends, Opportunities and Challenges” by Prof. Rotem Shneor from the School of Business and Law, University of Agder, Norway.

Organized by the Bhutan Innovation and Technology Centre in collaboration with Gedu College of Business Studies, the session explored crowdfunding models, emerging global trends, fundraising strategies, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of entrepreneurial finance.

We were delighted to welcome a diverse group of participants, including students, entrepreneurs, key players in Bhutan’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, and incubatees working to grow and scale their ventures.
