The Botswana Trade Commission (BOTC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Entrepreneurship (MTE) undertook a workshop on the review of Botswana’s import and export control regime, the Control of Goods, Prices and Other Charges Act (CGPOA) (CAP. 43:08). The objective of the workshop was to facilitate a clear, predictable and conducive legal and regulatory environment for the control of imports and exports in Botswana within the ongoing legislative and institutional reform being the CGPOA and the Import and Export Control Regulations under the BOTC Act. The workshop comprised of other key stakeholders such as BOMRA and BERA.

The Botswana Trade Commission (BOTC) team led by the Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Shirley Moncho, attended the Botswana Exporters and Manufacturers Association (BEMA) networking session last week in Tlokweng, hosted at Kebo Holdings.

The Commission joined a diverse group of stakeholders, including government leadership, industry players and members of the diplomatic community. The session provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration and exchange of ideas aimed at propelling Botswana’s manufacturing sector.

The event was graced by the Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Hon. Tiroyaone Ntsima, alongside the Member of Parliament for Tlokweng, Hon. Phenyo Segokgo.

The newly appointed Board brings a wealth of experience, diverse expertise, and a shared commitment to advancing Botswana’s economic transformation agenda. Their leadership will play a pivotal role in strengthening the delivery of BOTC’s mandate on implementation of trade and industrial development policies to drive industry development, value addition and export competitiveness.
