CYBERSECURITY AND DATA PROTECTION AWARENESS TRAINING FOR TEAM DUMA FM

The MCS Security Solutions team, led by Dr. June Jeremiah (PhD), delivered a highly engaging and interactive cybersecurity and data protection awareness training for Duma FM staff.

The session highlighted the growing importance of cybersecurity in the media industry, where protecting sensitive information, sources, and digital assets is critical. Participants explored real-world threats, best practices, and practical steps to strengthen their security posture.

One of the standout moments of Day 2 was the Hackathon Innovation Showcase, where the brightest young cybersecurity innovators took the spotlight.
Students from the 2025 HackSecure Challenge presented bold, future-focused solutions addressing real-world cyber threats, from digital forensics tools to intelligent defence concepts. Their creativity, technical skill, and passion lit up the room, proving that Africa’s next generation of cyber defenders is already shaping the future.
We are also deeply grateful for the incredible support from Team EU, with special appreciation to Taavi Erkkola and María Gastón Betrán for championing youth-driven innovation and contributing to the success of this showcase. Your commitment to empowering emerging cybersecurity talent made this moment even more impactful.
