âś…Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Manager to lead our safety and compliance initiatives. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety management systems (SMS) that meet or exceed regulatory and operational standards. As our Safety Manager, you will be a key member of our leadership team, helping to create a safe, compliant, and forward-thinking environment at GML Aviation.
âś…Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) in line with Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) requirements.
Conduct regular safety audits, assessments, and risk analyses to identify and mitigate hazards.
Oversee safety training programs, ensuring that all staff are up-to-date on procedures, protocols, and best practices.
Lead safety investigations, reporting incidents, accidents, and other safety-related occurrences, and recommend preventive measures.
Foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organization, promoting awareness, communication, and compliance.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring all safety practices align with CAAB and international aviation standards.
Support and advise management on safety-related matters to inform strategic decisions.
âś…Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aviation Safety, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in safety management within the aviation industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of SMS principles and CAAB regulations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to lead, mentor, and engage teams in safety practices.
Commitment to integrity, transparency, and continuous improvement.
