Well, s**t. 💩
The time has come to hang up the p**p bags. Ninja Scoopz will officially close October 10, with our last scheduled route on October 8.
And while there is some bittersweetness in saying goodbye to something we built from scratch, mostly I feel really proud.
When we started Ninja Scoopz, it was an idea that seemed worth trying. We had p**p bags, a ridiculous amount of material for bad jokes, kids I could rope into helping, and a willingness to see if we could make something of it.
And we did.
We built a real little business with an amazing group of clients. We got to know their dogs, their families and our community. My kids learned about showing up, doing a job well and earning their own money. I learned a whole lot about building a service business from the ground up, including just how much p**p can accumulate in an Airdrie backyard over the winter. 😂
The reality is that Ninja Scoopz hasn't grown to the size it needs to for me to keep investing the time it requires. At the same time, my consulting work has grown more than I anticipated when we started this adventure, and some pretty incredible opportunities are asking for that time instead.
One thing I know about myself is that one of my greatest gifts is knowing when to leave things. I don't need something to fail before I'm willing to let it go. Something can be good, you can be proud of it, and it can still be time to move on.
That's where I am with Ninja Scoopz.
The response from our clients has been pretty damn heartwarming and reminded me that this weird little business mattered to people. I'm incredibly grateful for that.
Thank you to everyone who trusted us with your yards, referred your neighbours, laughed at our terrible p**p jokes, supported my kids, or simply cheered us on.
We had a hell of a lot of fun doing the dirty work, and I'm pretty damn excited about what I'm making room for next.
Scoop you later. 🥷💩💗
