PRT welcomes Jason Cromer as Genetic Investment Advisor, US Southeast

We’re pleased to welcome Jason Cromer to PRT’s US Southeast Sales Team as a Genetic Investment Advisor (GIA).

Jason is a well-established forestry professional who brings more than 13 years of experience in the seedling industry, spanning seedling sales, nursery operations, forestry and land management. His background also includes a strong foundation in research focused on biomass production and tree improvement programs.

For our clients, that depth of expertise translates into something meaningful for the future of their land base. Jason brings the experience to help clients make informed decisions today that can positively influence future productivity, performance and value - identifying the genetic seedling options best suited to their objectives and pairing those selections with effective silviculture practices.

💚 16,926 trees, a new personal best and a future forest born. 🌲✨

After 18 hours of pushing his body past the absolute limits of human endurance, Kenny Chaplin had to officially stop planting at 2:12 AM this morning.

While the 2021 world record ultimately remains unbroken, we are in absolute awe of what Kenny achieved out there. He pushed through the cold, the wind, and intense physical exhaustion to plant a staggering 16,926 seedlings! 🤯💪

That is nearly 2,000 MORE trees than he planted during his full 24-hour run back in 2001—setting a massive new personal best and proving he is still an absolute powerhouse in the planting community. Kenny is disappointed to miss the world record, but incredibly proud of what he and the crew accomplished.

And he should be. Because of his sweat and determination, a beautiful communal forest has just been born in Buena Vista, Buena Vista, Saskatchewan (about 40km northwest of Regina) for families to enjoy for years to come.

🎁 A Gift to Buena Vista: What about the rest of the trees? The remainder of the 30,000 premium seedlings donated by our PRT Prince Albert nursery will be given away directly to local residents to plant at home!

🔥 8 HOURS DOWN, 16 TO GO! Kenny is maintaining a legendary pace! 🔥

Kenny Chaplin has been out on the block for 8 straight hours, consistently crushing a pace of more than 1,000 trees per hour! 🌲💪

The race against the current world record (23,060 trees) is incredibly tight: 📈 After 6 hours, his pace was projecting a final tally of 23,252. 📉 Now, at the 8-hour mark, fatigue is real, putting his current project pace at 23,223 trees.

He is currently tracking ahead of the record, but every single tree counts. This is brutally grueling work. Behind the scenes, his support team is doing everything possible to keep him moving—including immediate on-site massage therapy to keep his muscles moving and his body in the game.

🏁 AND THEY’RE OFF! The 24-hour countdown has officially begun! 🌲⏱️

This morning, Kenny Chaplin started his legendary run to reclaim his world record title! Over the next 24 hours, he will be pushing the absolute limits of human endurance to turn this field into a future communal forest.

🌧️ Weather Update from the Block: It’s a bit cool, moist, and windy out here today. While it means checking out the event in person requires a heavy jacket, these damp conditions are actually PERFECT for tree planting! It keeps the ground soft and our premium seedlings happy as they go into the earth.

While Kenny Chaplin has been busy training his body for next week's epic Guinness World Record attempt, our amazing crew at PRT Prince Albert has been hard at work prepping his "green ammo"! 🌲

Planting over 23,000 trees in a single day requires perfect execution—not just from the planter, but from the nursery. Our team has spent the last week pulling, grading, and packing thousands of our absolute finest seedlings to make sure Kenny has the perfect conditions to shatter the world record.

🌲 25,000 TREES. 24 HOURS. ONE GOAL. 🌲

One week from today, Canadian tree planting legend Kenny Chaplin is attempting to reclaim his Guinness World Record for the most trees planted by an individual in 24 hours!

Back in 2001, Kenny set an incredible record by planting 15,170 trees in a single day right here in Saskatchewan. Fast forward to 2022, and fellow Canadian Antoine Moses shattered that benchmark by hitting a mind-boggling 23,060 trees.

Now, Kenny is ready to step back on the field and see if he can push the limits even further.

We are incredibly proud to support this monumental effort, donating 30,000 seedlings from our Prince Albert nursery, and the countdown starts right now!
