This was way back when the plans for this project were put in place and the premier agreed to help it come to be. So happy to attend the provincial announcement today by Deputy Premier Ellis. $38 million to enable Beaumont to build the infrastructure for the proposed Transportation Safety Campus. Yes!

Today, YourAlberta (Government of Alberta) announced that a plan for a training and innovation campus in Beaumont’s Innovation Park has cleared several hurdles and is moving to the next stage. The Alberta Motor Transport Association plans to build a best-in-class training site for commercial transportation, law enforcement, and technological innovation.

This project will serve as a magnet for further investment and business development, creating good-paying jobs and spin-off benefits right here in Beaumont.

Attracting businesses and investment also helps pay for city services, recreation, infrastructure, and all the many things that make Beaumont a great place to live. This is great news for our city and the region.

Premier Danielle Smith was in Beaumont last week to talk about the project with Mayor Bill Daneluik and our CAO Mike Schwirtz and visited the future construction site at Highway 625 and 50 Street.

Last night's Council decision demonstrated the power of parent involvement and support from many community members for continuing to provide quality child care in Beaumont. The proponents of quality child care, including the children whose voices were heard, understood that it's necessary to work together as qualified ECE professionals, engaged parents and a caring community. Thank you members of Beaumont City Council for listening, learning and being responsive.

Council has asked for a plan from City Administration to increase cost recovery to maintain child care programs.

Last night in Ireland. Treating ourselves (again) to an Italian dinner at La Caverna. The Dublin spire is pictured here and is also called the stiletto in the ghetto.

What a trip! Finished off with a medieval feast and a visit to Limerick and stopped off in Galway. Homeward bound!

Ireland has been a treasure trove of experiences and sights. The following images are a sampling of the events from yesterday and today, including a sheep dog herding demonstration, a wh***ey bar in Killarney, and the Cliffs of Moher.

Reflecting this morning...when humans collaborate we can get to the moon and back safely. We could solve more complex problems here on planet Earth too like hunger , homelessness and peace if we really tried.
