From the Mayor's Office | It is with sadness that we learned of the Queen's death. For many Canadians Queen Elizabeth II has been the only Monarch we have known. She is the longest-reigning British Monarch and the longest-serving female head of state in history. We join with all Commonwealth nations and peoples to extend our sympathies to her family and our deepest appreciation. We are grateful for her record-setting length of service to Canada and the world. May God bless the Queen.

The flags at all Belleville municipal buildings will be lowered immediately in her honour. A book of condolences will be set out on the fourth floor of City Hall for members of the community to sign during business hours from 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
