Happy planting! Happy 150th Bobcaygeon!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Locks today to celebrate Bobcaygeon 150 and take part in our free potting activity!

Ryan and I truly enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people, reconnecting with familiar faces, and sharing great conversations throughout the day.

Thank you for being part of such a memorable day. We loved spending it with you and look forward to seeing you again soon! 🌱🌼

Our Northern Kiwi Vines have had a hard couple years.
Vines like grapes/kiwis, trees like willows, locust, and shrubs like lilac and nannyberry have shown resilience to last year 's drought. Rebounding in different ways and pushing out new growth.

Maybe this year we will finally get a 🥝.

Sat June 13th is going to be a big day as Bobcaygeon is celebrating its 150th Anniversary! Come down to the locks 11am to 4pm for a fun free potting activity put on by Ryan and Jenna the owners of Reclaimed By Nature and the creators of the Cottage Garden Market.

Planting season is well in hand. 🌱
We put the bulk of our seeds and started plants in the last several days! Exciting!! Grown baby grow.

Black Aztec corn 🌽
Spaghetti Squash
Cinderella Squash
Cherokee Trail of Tear Beans
White Pinto Beans
Sweet peas 🫛
Swiss Chard
Lettuce
Spinach
Six types of tomatoes
Two types of sunflowers 🌻
Sweet bell peppers
Paprika
Dill
Sage

Add into the mix our
Garlic (600 plants) we will be making lots of scape pesto soon!
Strawberries, currents, asparagus, nannyberry all are flowering. The bees are busy doing their part. 🐝

Considering last year's drought. Many trees, shrubs near and around us, have died back considerably. Some will never rebound. We have planted for resilience. We are optimistic about this growing season.

Laying down straw for water conservation and limiting weeds, mulching to reduce competition and collecting rainwater 💦 (when it rains) please rain...

Get out there and get gardening. Enjoy the outdoors and the gifts the garden has for us.

Does your caulking need replacement?
Have you ever taken a closer look from outside?

Reseal your house and prevent pests, drafts and clean up the look. Prevent water infiltration and potential damage.

Thermoplastic caulking lasts 10-25 years.
Acrylic is not cut out for more than 5-10 years. We avoid using this outside.
Both can be colour matched and paintable.

Most silicone does not work well on expanding and contracting surfaces.

We remove old caulking and clean properly to get the tightest seal.

You should.
Fill gaps over 1/4".
Flash or trim gaps over 1/2"-3/4" depending.

** Caulking before after 25 year old caulking prepping for paint and preventative maintenance.
