The Tigercat 180 is a 3-drum hydraulic swing yarder purpose-built to combine the power and versatility of conventional, 3-drum yarders with the mobility of smaller 2-drum yarders. These hydraulic yarders have become increasingly popular in recent years.

The three drums (skyline, mainline, & haulback) support multiple rigging configurations not possible with smaller 2-drum machines. The 180 is also capable of operating without the guylines found on many conventional yarders in part due to size and positioning of the machine’s front blade. However, guylines can be rigged to the machine’s boom when necessary to balance the forces and keep the yarder upright.
