I hope you'll join me for a special Canada Day edition of Nostalgia with Paul Merkley as we journey to Canada's beautiful East Coast through music, stories, and memories.

Together we'll explore the rich musical traditions of Newfoundland and the Maritime Provinces, listening to songs that celebrate the people, humour, resilience, and beauty of life by the Atlantic Ocean. Whether you have roots in Atlantic Canada or simply enjoy great storytelling through music, I'd love to have you with us.

Louis Armstrong was more than a brilliant trumpeter and singer—he was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, whose warmth, creativity, and unmistakable style continue to delight listeners around the world.

In this interactive session, we'll explore how music connects us to memories, emotions, and the people who matter most. Father's Day seems the perfect occasion to reflect on the songs, stories, and musical moments that remind us of our fathers and father figures.

Whether you're a jazz enthusiast or simply curious about great music, I would be delighted to have you join us for an hour of listening, learning, conversation, and connection.

🎶 Tuesday at 2 PM (ET): Introducing Music Club! 🎶

AYS is thrilled to welcome Music and Memory Junction to our programming family!

Join us every two weeks on Zoom for live, reminiscence based music sessions led by musicologist Dr. Paul Merkley. Together we’ll travel through the soundtrack of our lives, covering a LOT of musical ground, from Céline Dion to Elvis Presley to Handel’s Messiah.

And to start things off? We’re kicking off Music Club with none other than Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra. 🎶

Come sing along, reminisce, and enjoy the memories music brings back.
