So so happy to see these tiny little Asparagus showing back up, started them from seed last year. So this is only there second season. 🌳 did I plant them with my Iris’s? Yes!! No specific reason, just thought they could be friends and if the seeds didn’t germinate I wouldn’t have a bare spot ☺️🌿

Calgary found some spring yesterday at the Gardeners Market! Thanks for all the great conversations and making the day about the ones who rule this world.. the plants! Our 2026 biodynamic calendar is up on the website and ready for you to use! This gardening calendar is just for our growing season March-October and will help you plan out your gardening and planting plans for this season. Know when to start seeds indoors this spring and what gardening activities to be doing each month by following this calendar. Biodynamic gardening is a practice that Seed to Sage offers when planning your garden space; as well as your veggie gardens of course. This is an ancient, tradition-based practice of aligning agricultural tasks—such as sowing, planting, pruning, and harvesting—with the phases of the moon. We know it well here is Calgary and we learn to love it! Our native plants are so resilient and adaptable in the prairies- so many of them thrive in our heavy clay areas, just be sure to keep the soil covered with leaves or mulch, helping it stay well drained but not dry out too much! Always be adding in organic matter to improve its structure, but you will never fully be rid of it AND you don’t have to be! 🪱🐛🐦‍⬛🌲
