What if the anger isn't the problem?
One of the things we've noticed in our conversations with women around the menopausal threshold is just how interested they are in the feelings we're often encouraged to manage, soften or move beyond.
Anger.
Resentment.
Rage.
The sudden and rather inconvenient realization that something you've tolerated for years is no longer tolerable.
We don't think these feelings necessarily mean something has gone wrong.
Sometimes they're information.
Sometimes they reveal a boundary crossed too many times, a need repeatedly put aside, a role we've outgrown, or a truth we've known for much longer than we've admitted.
At the menopausal threshold, some of this can get LOUD.
We're curious about what happens when, instead of immediately asking:
"How do I make this feeling go away?"
we ask:
"What is this feeling trying to show me?"
That's a conversation we're going to be having a lot more of over the next few months.
What feeling has become harder for you to ignore at midlife?
