We're in for a week of wet weather, starting this afternoon, so head cold be damned, I needed to get on my mountain bike this morning. 🤩

I actually felt pretty good, and the trails are riding great ... for the moment. ☔

Islay, of course had the best time, including blowing her brains out on the drive home (last pic). 🐶

Happy Saturday 🚵🏼‍♀️

Stress is a pain in the a** sometimes, but it has its benefits too.

When we're stressed, one of the GOOD things about Cortisol is that it BOOSTS our immune system.

The downside though... well, watch the video.

What an amazing way to finish off this 7 week stretch of presentations.

Today in Whistler, B.C. I shared my Energized for Excellence keynote with 400+ members of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators, helping them master small shifts in daily habits that create extraordinary results.

As closing keynote, and after two days of learning and networking, my goal is to help them feel great about themselves and the work they're heading toward, and equip them with tools to drive productivity, focus, and energy. We also shared a few laughs.

Thank you Jennifer Goodine for always curating amazing events, and for trusting me to close out the conference.

Islay and I spent the day in the garden getting all my flowers and tomatoes planted. So now we relax... which Islay has been doing all day actually, but she's a good supervisor.

My tomato plants always look a little wimpy and sad at first (last two photos), but they'll grow into their own in no time.

Because we have such a small backyard I use containers for everything and it works quite well.

Yes, I'm a tomato geek. I'll have a bounty but they're delicious.

Plus, my inlaws are visiting this summer and my father-in-law is a fan, so we'll all be happy. Right 😃🍅

I'll plant my carrots, beets and kale up front when I'm back from this next trip.

As soon as learned I'd be in FSJ emceeing today's event, she reached out to see if she could take me for dinner after the conference. Nice right?!

And after a busy and at times emotional day, it's exactly what I needed ... a good meal and great conversation with this badass kindred spirit.

Thanks Jennifer, so great to see you!

It's amazing what's possible when a small group of dedicated people come together over a shared need for community support.

In the wake of the Tumbler Ridge school shootings and other youth challenges in the region, decided to host a one day Mental Health Conference to provide resources and support for those who care for the children and youth of the North.

Parents, educators, caregivers, community members, first responders, business owners all committed to being there.

Jessica, Brittany, and Lindsay from Tlthe City of FSJ pulled this event together in less than three months, drawing on the experiences and expertise of six speakers on various topics that impact young people: Jennifer Flanagan, .vanessalapointe, Mike Harnett, and Brittany Hartnell.

I had the absolute honour of being emcee for the day, holding space for the stories and conversations happening in the room, and weaving a thread from one speaker to the next... and it's a role I truly enjoyed.

What a powerful day.

Thanks to all who invested your time and energy to be there today. The community of Fort St John is better for it.

If it is, in fact going to snow tomorrow, I thought it would be smart to bring in the first batch of rhubarb.

And with so much rhubarb, a) I'm giving some away, and b) I made a rhubarb custard pie.

Thank you for inviting me to be closing keynote this afternoon for day 1 of your team event.

This one hit differently. It's always inspiring to me when I get to present for a group of purpose-driven professionals who care about making a difference... So they care about taking care of themselves.

I often do an appreciation/awareness exercise to find out who has worked for the organization for the longest time and the shortest.

In this group Tammy (second from last) was 37 years with BDC. Cori was over 40 years. And Dan (third from last) started with BDC three days ago... And it's a company where people stay, so I expect he's chosen well!

Thanks Ryan and team, and for the opportunity.

Over 200 in the room and hundreds online for my 'May I Have Your Attention Please?' session at DPI/PDW in Ottawa.

It means a lot of people are looking for ways to better understand what's happening to their health, happiness and humanity with too much scrolling...and better manage their digital lives.

Technology isn't going away, so let's learn how to live better with it.

Now I'm off to Vancouver for tomorrow's keynote.
