My attempt at working smarter, not harder. 😅

I got a few laughs and comments for wearing hockey gear while pushing calves up the alley.

Fair enough.

But as the saying goes, one of the most expensive comments on a farm or ranch is:

“That’s how we’ve always done it.”

Sometimes the best ideas look a little unconventional at first.

Besides… everyone seemed to think it was a pretty good idea when the sound of strong, healthy hooves hitting the shin guards echoed down the alley.

No pain. No injuries. 💁🏻‍♀️

Here’s to always learning, adapting, and being willing to try something new!

It truly takes a village in rural life. A little late posting this — but Mother’s Day appreciation deserves more than one day anyway!! ♥️

Here’s to the moms, grandmas, stepmoms, neighbours, aunts, friends, and women who help hold rural families, farms, and communities together — thank you.

The planning.
The caregiving.
The meals.
The schedules.
The emotional load.
The remembering.
The steady support behind the scenes that keeps families and operations moving forward.

And so often… this is all happening on top of operating, managing, and running your farms/ranches, businesses, careers, and responsibilities too.

So much of rural life runs because of work that often goes unseen.

Make sure to take a moment and reflect on all that you do — or share your gratitude with someone special in your life who quietly and strongly carries so much for others. 💛

Canadian Ag Safety Week is March 15-21! 🦺🌾

The week is a good reminder to all farmers, farm workers, and farm families to take the time to do each farm job safely.

With our support and funding, the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) runs initiatives to help keep farm families safe, like the fatal injury reporting database, the BeGrainSafe program, and the Safety Days for Children program: https://ow.ly/xKpC50Ytqw5

Let’s all do our part to keep our farms safe, healthy, sustainable, and successful.

Happy International Women’s Day!! And fittingly 2026 is the Year of the Woman Farmer 👩🏻‍🌾 💪 ♥️

“Here’s to strong women.
May we know them.
May we be them.
May we raise them.”

To the mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, partners, and caregivers who are the ❤️ of farm families and farm businesses.

Agriculture, our communities, and our families are stronger because of YOU🌻

Are you done with survival mode?
Done reacting instead of moving forward with clarity?

How do you move from autopilot
to building — and actually enjoying — the life your farm is meant to support?

🌾 Night 5 — The Dream Day 🌾
Night 5 puts structure around that shift.

🧱 Define individual and shared definitions of success
📊 Translate vision into time, money, and capacity
🌾 Align business structure with lifestyle and retirement expectations
💬 Talk about the future clearly — without pressure

Because the farm should support your life — not consume it.

👉 Move from probable to possible.
