VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! Our 4th Annual Community Clean-Up is happening on Saturday, May 31, and we’re looking for businesses and volunteers to help tackle litter, illegal dumping, and alleyway debris throughout the neighbourhood.

Volunteers will help collect smaller litter items while our friends at 1-800-GOT-JUNK remove larger dumped materials and flagged disposal items throughout Greenview Industrial.

Businesses can also help by marking dumped alleyway junk or manageable excess waste with bright tape, sticky notes, or caution tape to assist cleanup crews with quick identification and pickup. We kindly ask businesses to only place out materials that are safe to handle and to be mindful of the program’s disposal capacity so we can support as many neighbours as possible.

💚THIS IS NOT FOR SHOP CLEAN OUTS, IT IS INTENDED TO FOCUS ON SHARED PUBLIC SPACES SUCH AS ALLEYWAYS, SIDEWALKS, & GREEN AREAS.💚

Our Greenies Team and volunteers will meet at Congress Coffee at 11:00 AM, with cleanup activities running until approximately 2:30 PM, followed by some socializing until 3:00 PM. Volunteers will receive a $5 voucher for Congress Coffee and a free Tango 2 Echo T-shirt as a thank-you for helping out. It’s also a great opportunity to explore the area, connect with the community, and make a visible impact on the neighbourhood and environment.

Over the past few years, volunteers have helped remove dumped furniture, mattresses, scrap materials, random tires, broken pallets, and countless bags of garbage from alleys and industrial lots across the neighbourhood. The transformation in just a few hours is always incredible as we prepare the area for sunny summer days.

To volunteer, support the cleanup, or receive more information, email [email protected] to join us!

Made In Greenview: Ep 2.1 .yyc x Functional Health

We’d like to introduce you to one of Greenview’s newest fitness hubs: Elevate YYC and sister company Elevate Functional Health, located at 640 42 Ave NE. These women-owned businesses are building more than a gym, offering comprehensive fitness and sports medicine that put community, health, and long-term wellness first.

And if you’re like us, you’ll appreciate the absence of that stereotypical gym ego and feel comfortable to just get to know yourself. It feels more like a wellness retreat (just one where you might be sweating it out or focusing on deep restoration).

What makes this space unique is how wellness experts mutually support one another, creating a space where training and recovery holistically meet under one roof.

Elevate YYC provides functional fitness, strength training, and conditioning classes.
Elevate Functional Health is a sports medicine clinic, offering chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture, and naturopathic therapies.

This integrated approach ensures you have the tools to reach your absolute potential, whether you are building strength or recovering from an injury. To make the space even more accessible, they also feature a dedicated Kids Zone play area so parents can train or attend clinic appointments stress-free.

Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or have been putting in the work for years, there’s a place for everyone and this weekend is their grand opening!
8AM to 2PM, pop in for free presentations with by Dr. Mandy:

- 11:40 AM – 12:00 PM: Prolotherapy for Joint Pain
- 12:10 PM – 12:30 PM: Men's Health: Do you need TRT?
- 12:40 PM – 1:00 PM: Women's Health: Are your hormones a hot mess?
- 1:10 PM – 1:30 PM: Creatine for Brainz and Gainz

Additionally, three practitioners are offering free 10-minute mini-treatments:

- Massage with Vicky (RMT)
- Chiropractic treatment with Jose (DC)
- Acupuncture session with Emma (TCMD)
There's also draw prizes, kid-friendly activities, snacks, and coffee throughout the day.

Thanks to everyone for coming on our annual to check out some of our street art and murals. It's great to see a crowd around these works of art to really give them a sense of scale. We like big walls, and we cannot lie!

Over the past few years, hundreds of artists have helped to contribute to beautifying our streets. There's something to see in every alley way. Didn't make it? Visit our website to find a map for all of our public art and take yourself on a little stroll!

Huge shoutouts to our guides .meaboutit North Hill Auto Service and local councillor .ca for showing everyone what we've got going on over here! And of course our wonderful photographer 📸 .grondin.photo

Last night we had the chance to sit down with fellow community leaders and share what we’re seeing and hearing across Greenview Industrial and Ward 4. 🤝

These conversations are an important part of the work, bringing forward the day-to-day realities that our businesses’ and communities are navigating and helping shape what comes next.

Thank you to our Ward 4 Councillor DJ Kelly for creating space for thoughtful discussion and for taking the time to listen to priorities that matter on the ground. We’re thrilled to be part of this important work. 💚

Proud to keep advocating for our businesses and making sure Greenview is well represented as we head into the City of Calgary – Your Local Government ‘s next budget cycle. 🛠️

Thanks everyone for tuning in last week for our "Meet The Board" Series. We actually have 3 other board members that weren't able to attend for the interviews but we'll try to get something up soon to prove they exist! Volunteers are doing a lot of the best lifting and we appreciate everyone who helps out! ❤️❤️❤️

Part 4 of Celebrating National Volunteer Week:

Ross Mikkelson, volunteer Greenview board member and current secretary, knows that to really discover Greenview, you need to take a deeper look (maybe even get a little lost), to find those quirky hidden gems that make Greenview what it really is. People often just come for the reliability of Greenview services, like getting their windshield fixed, swapping out tires in the spring, or grabbing a good meal, but they're beginning to see there's much more to be discovered.

Over the past five years, he’s seen the BIA grow more ambitious, with placemaking efforts like murals, banners, unique events, and thoughtful details helping define the area’s identity. He’s part of a dedicated board that is taking thoughtful risks to put Greenview on the map and seeing them pay off for the broader community.

This National Volunteer Week, we recognize people like Ross who continue to shape Greenview through their time, care, and belief in what’s here, by giving back and helping to showcase the true identity of our community.
