Therapists: what should you post on social media each day?
Give each post a purpose. A weekly content plan can help people understand your work, get familiar with your practice, and feel more comfortable reaching out.
Here is a seven-day framework to adapt:
Monday: Educate
Explain a topic your ideal clients may be searching for, such as boundaries, burnout, or what anxiety can look like.
The strategy: Make your expertise accessible and relevant.
Tuesday: Share a practical tool
Offer a reflection prompt, grounding exercise, or communication tip.
The strategy: Give your audience something useful while acknowledging that general information cannot replace individual care.
Wednesday: Answer a common question
“What happens in a first session?” “Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?”
The strategy: Address uncertainty that may make someone hesitate to book.
Thursday: Introduce your approach
Share your professional values, explain a modality, or offer a glimpse of your office.
The strategy: Help prospective clients understand what working with you could feel like.
Friday: Clarify a misconception
Address a common misunderstanding about therapy with thoughtful, accessible language.
The strategy: Help people develop realistic expectations about seeking support.
Saturday: Connect with your community
Highlight a relevant resource, awareness initiative, or local organization.
The strategy: Make your page a useful resource beyond your own services.
Sunday: Offer a clear next step
Explain who you work with, where you practise, and how to enquire about appointments.
The strategy: Make it easy for someone who is ready to contact you.
You do not need to publish seven days a week. Use these themes as a rotation that fits your capacity. Three purposeful posts a week can give you a manageable starting point.
Keep client information private, use accurate language, and avoid promises about treatment outcomes.
