π¨ Important Update for Our Clients & Community π¨
The Government of Canada has introduced temporary border measures in response to the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with increasing risks in Uganda and South Sudan.
Effective May 27, 2026, for 90 days, the following immigration documents will be paused for residents of the DRC, Uganda, and South Sudan:
π΄ Permanent Residence Visas
π΄ Temporary Residence Visas
π΄ Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTAs)
π΄ Study Permits
π΄ Work Permits
π This is described as a temporary pause (NOT a permanent ban) as Canada works to reduce the risk of Ebola entering the country, with the upcoming FIFA World Cup also cited as a factor in the decision.
