How to spot a "ghost" consultant before they spook your application:

👻 They Ghost Official Channels: They ask you to communicate only through personal messaging apps, never official emails or documentation
👻 They Vanish After Payment: Red flag if they become unreachable the moment funds are transferred
👻 They Haunt You With Guarantees: No legitimate consultant can guarantee visa approval. If they promise it, run.
👻 They're Not Who They Claim to Be: Always verify credentials before hiring anyone

Key changes include a stronger "employer test," restrictions on staffing agencies applying for LMIAs on behalf of other businesses, and a firm crackdown on misclassifying workers as independent contractors (both before and after approval).

🍁Quick clarification for anyone navigating the LMIA process this fall!

A job offer alone isn't enough to apply for certain Canadian work permits. If the position requires a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), your employer must first receive a positive LMIA confirming that hiring a foreign worker won't negatively affect the Canadian labour market. ✅

Only after the LMIA is approved can you use it to support your work permit application.

⚠️ A job offer without a positive LMIA is not sufficient for most LMIA-based work permit streams.

📚 Now is the time to level up your skills! IRCC's recent announcement says foreign nationals may now have the opportunity to pursue studies (with a duration of less than 6 months) without a study permit.

Accordinng to IRCC, "This public policy aims to support labour market needs including helping address shortages in key sectors such as healthcare, while strengthening pathways to permanent residence for workers whose skills and contributions support Canada’s economy."

Keep in mind that this policy is valid until December 31, 2027 (unless revoked earlier).
