EXCITING NEWS FROM FRANCHISEFUEL: A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH OHC RENOVATIONS

I’m very pleased to share that FranchiseFuel Consultants has officially partnered with OHC Renovations to identify and connect with qualified individuals interested in exploring franchise ownership opportunities across Canada.

What first caught my attention about this model was a question I often hear:

“I’m not a contractor and I don’t know how to renovate a home. How could I possibly own a renovation business?”

The answer is: You don’t necessarily need to be the one holding the hammer. 😊

In the OHC model, the franchise owner’s role is focused on sales, client relationships, estimating, managing subcontractors, overseeing projects, leading the team, and growing the business.

In simple terms:

You are building a renovation company, not becoming a renovation contractor yourself.

OHC operates as an executive-style business model that can start from a home office and scale as the business grows.

Here are a few key points for prospective investors to consider:

🔹 Estimated total investment: $99,300

This includes a $50,000 franchise fee, $5,000 for training, approximately $9,300 for the initial home-based business setup, and $35,000 in operating and marketing capital for the first six months.

🔹 Up to 90% financing support may be available to qualified candidates

Of course, financing depends on the individual applicant and approval by the lender. It is not automatically guaranteed.

🔹 Protected exclusive territories

Each territory is designed around a minimum population of approximately 250,000 and is further evaluated based on local market characteristics.

🔹 No construction experience required

Potential candidates may come from backgrounds in management, sales, project management, customer service, or team leadership.

🔹 Training, systems, and ongoing support

The model includes support in areas such as sales, project management, CRM systems, SOPs, estimating, supplier relationships, subcontractor management, and ongoing coaching.

One area many investors will naturally want to understand is the revenue potential.

According to information provided by OHC, its Ottawa operation recorded approximately $343,000 in revenue in 2022 and $543,900 in 2023. OHC’s franchise materials also present an estimated $500,000+ in revenue for the home-based model.

These figures are based on information and estimates provided by the franchisor and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a new franchisee will achieve the same results.

OHC Renovations has also been recognized as a finalist in the EF100 Top 100 Franchises Canada 2026.

As I always say:

A good franchise is not necessarily the right franchise for you.

Every opportunity should be considered based on your experience, financial capacity, management and sales skills, level of involvement, and long-term goals.

My role, together with the FranchiseFuel team, is to help prospective investors understand the business model, evaluate whether there may be a good fit, and connect with the franchisor to continue the formal discovery process.

If you are considering business ownership in Canada and are interested in the home renovation industry—but don’t want to build everything from scratch—feel free to message me directly or comment “OHC.”

I’ll be happy to share more information and help you explore the most important question:

“Is this the right business for me?”

A New Chapter for FranchiseFuel: Welcome to Ontario! 🇨🇦

Today marks another exciting milestone for Consutants

I'm delighted to welcome Nguyen Trung Hieu as our “Ontario Representative”, while also celebrating the launch of our FranchiseFuel Ontario page.

Hieu is a Vietnamese lawyer who has been advising businesses on cross-border investment and commercial matters since 2012. Over the years, he has helped companies expand beyond their home markets, with a strong focus on Vietnam–Canada business development.

What makes Hieu a great fit for FranchiseFuel is that he understands both sides of the equation—the legal framework and the realities of growing a business.

His experience spans investment law, commercial law, and franchise expansion, helping businesses develop franchisor systems, identify the right franchise partners, and build sustainable franchise networks across North America.

As FranchiseFuel continues to grow across Canada, having experienced professionals on the ground is an important part of our vision. Ontario is home to one of the country's most vibrant business communities, and we're excited to better serve entrepreneurs, investors, and companies looking to expand through franchising.

Still feeling energized after the franchise workshop we recently co-hosted with WinEx Academy and the Middle Eastern business community in Canada.

What I expected was an opportunity to share insights on franchising.

What I didn't expect was how many meaningful business conversations and new relationships would come from it.

During the event, I had the chance to connect with business owners from a wide range of industries — technology, immigration consulting, construction, international trade, hospitality, and established franchise brands already operating in the market.

One thing this experience reinforced for me is that the core of my work has never been just about franchising.

It's about understanding businesses, identifying opportunities, and connecting the right people together.

Because of that, I've recently started exploring a new area: helping build business and trade connections between Canada and Vietnam.

I'm already speaking with Canadian companies interested in expanding into Vietnam, while also looking for quality products and services from Vietnam that may have potential in the Canadian market.

It's a new chapter, and certainly a learning experience, but one I'm genuinely excited about.

If you're a business owner in Canada or Vietnam and exploring growth opportunities, I'd love to connect and hear your story.

A sincere thank you to WinEx Academy, the Middle Eastern business community, and everyone who took the time to share their experiences and insights.

One meeting note I hear surprisingly often from business owners is:

"We've built a successful business, but somehow everything still depends on me."

After reviewing franchise systems and speaking with founders across different industries, I've noticed that this challenge isn't usually a people problem.

It's often a systems problem.

Many businesses grow through the owner's effort, relationships, and experience. But eventually there comes a point where growth requires something different: processes that can be repeated, trained, and executed consistently by others.

This is one of the reasons I believe strong franchise systems can be so valuable. The best ones are built around repeatable processes rather than relying on one person to hold everything together.

A business that depends entirely on the owner may generate income.

A business built around systems has a much better chance of scaling sustainably.

That's a distinction I find myself discussing with founders almost every week.

A small moment we're proud of.

Our founder, Chau Nguyen, was recently featured in Atlanta Life Viet Magazine, sharing insights on franchise ownership with the Vietnamese business community across the United States.

The article explores a topic we discuss often with aspiring business owners: sometimes the smartest path isn't starting from scratch — it's building on a proven system.

It's always encouraging to see conversations around franchising reaching more entrepreneurs across North America.

Thank you to Atlanta Life Viet for the opportunity.

A big thank you to everyone who joined our workshop yesterday evening.

We had close to 20 participants, and I truly appreciate the time, thoughtful questions, and conversations throughout the session.

Over 90 minutes, we explored the senior care industry, different ownership models, investment considerations, and real-life franchise case studies. There were definitely a lot of numbers and operational details involved, so thank you for staying engaged until the very end.

My goal has always been to make franchising easier to understand, especially for people exploring business ownership for the first time. I'll continue working on sharing these topics in a way that's practical, honest, and easy to follow.

Thank you again for your support, encouragement, and trust. I'm looking forward to more conversations like this in the future.

Cảm ơn mọi người đã dành thời gian tham gia và đồng hành cùng Châu. Hẹn gặp lại cả nhà ở những buổi chia sẻ tiếp theo.

Sometimes the most meaningful part of a business conversation isn’t the business itself.

It’s hearing immigrant stories that sound so familiar to many of us: starting over, building again, trying to create stability for our families while navigating a completely new country.

Yesterday’s talk around senior care and business ownership became much deeper than expected — and honestly, conversations like these are exactly why FranchiseFuel exists.

Really grateful for the trust, openness, and thoughtful reflections shared afterward.
